Today I was looking at my stomach scar and decided that the scabs seems a bit too uniform so had a closer look and realised that they were little stitches still in there. I texted my nurses who said I could pop over and have them popped out. Only half came out and on investigation she said that they were supposed to be dissolving sutures but they don't look like they are going anywhere to me!

We're in the Peak District and it's lovely. If you like greenery, hills and birdsong this is basically paradise. I'm desperately trying to enjoy myself instead of focusing on the weirdness going on in my neck. It's not really working as well as I'd like. I keep trying to remind myself that really if you think about the likelihood of illnesses, cancer around my voice box sounds really less likely than a lot of other, far less serious illnesses because after all, I've got lymphoma. Since I've become this "other person" "post cancer" I've noticed change's. pre cancer I liked to read. I read a lot every night for at least 3hr's. I practiced my yoga every day for at least an hour. I guess finally finishing work was inevitably going to lead to some pretty unappealing emotions but I didn't expect it to start as soon as I left the building on Friday night. It's been a really tough weekend so far. The stone fell out of my engagement ring on Friday night and I couldn't find it. Normally I'd be beside myself for something that meant so much to me but it seems in the fog of cancer and all that goes with it, material things seem pretty incidental.

So had my first outpatient appointment yesterday and it was confirmed that they would like me to have 6 weeks of Radiotherapy. Although my margins were clear apparently it was very close on one side and because of my age they would rather take the belt and braces approach.
