Drove my wife to her hair appointment at 1130. Felt shattered after with massive hot flush. (Off abiraterone for six days now but still on steroid tabs). My abdomen is much less distended now and my waist has lost up to 2 inches as measured by my trouser belt holes! The right leg remains swollen up to my knee but is cool and painless. No DVT there.
Bowel and bladder have behaved much more calmly in the past week and have obviously put out a lot of retained fluid, hence the reduction in waist size...

This weekend was amazing, yet emotional. Since we don't live together, our time has always been precious, but never as much as now. Started the radiotherapy today. Had to be there for 9am but no one had mentioned there was a whole different waiting area for appointments. Once we found that out we were quick to be seen. A nice gentleman went through what was happening again, checking that I knew what to expect and going over possible side effects again.(sore mouth inside and out, trouble eating, tiredness, possible hair loss at exit point.)

Well to say last week didn't get better would be an understatement, the injections caused so much pain we had a trip to A&E in the early hours of Saturday morning. We did however, find out that M's white count was high as in well over normal range for someone who is healthy, never mind 3 rounds of chemo in. At this point M decided to disregard the remaining anti biotics and refused the last injection, can't say I blame him I wasn't looking forward to inflicting more pain on him....
The remission finally came to an end with a crash last Wednesday at my regular onco clinic. The PSA had gone up again to my highest ever level, -20, which is peanuts to other men! The onco registrar, bless her, had ordered an up to date CT scan. The last was done on 1 November last and I'm going to ask for a copy of that one to find out what it showed then. The latest scan showed significant advancement of all mets in the pelvis with at least two new fractures! I know because the Registrar gave...
