Well it's been nearly a month since I updated this blog and it's been a bit of a whirlwind time but for once not because of cancer or chemo or illness but because of usual stuff like staffing levels and unexplained time off and the usual stuff we deal with in our normal lives. It's been great to be annoyed at work again beause it means normal is returning. We've regained some social life in the past couple of weeks and the rest of the month is socially active too. Now that the worst is over some of my 'friends' are returning to the scene as well so I've had a bit more time away, made possible mostly because the fear of infection is now past. The sharps bucket has been closed and is ready to return and my carer days are swiftly coming to an end.
We go away next week for my birthday and the registrar was fantastic in moving things around so we could have the whole weekend hospital free (should have been the last antibody). I only booked that particular weekend after special nurse told me that rituximab would only ever be given on 21 day cycle to the find out that they were doing M's on 14 days - thanks for that, but as usual the lovely spanish registrar has come up trumps and moved the treatment to the Monday after - and then 27th October we are done. PET scan second week in November and results somewhere round the 21st November so quicker than we were told last time but no bad thing - just really need to hear it's gone - completely - utterly and never more to be seen again.
M is well and his hair is starting to come back and he's got stubble too!!!
Just over a month left til D Day and we'll see - I really hope to then finish this blog and never have to revisit it again but only time will tell...
