Auto immune thyroid disease /benign u2 nodule thyroid

I'm just wondering if anyone can help or advise on this topic please?

Having been on  levothyroxine for many years my dosage had doubled in the past two years and my weight has increased a lot.

Recently been referred to an endocrinologist consultant as not stable

Levels and had ultrasound which has come back with benign nodule u2.

However, I can choke  very easily on nothing in particular and my throat is like sandpaper at times.

I'm quite worried as my blood tests I had done before...

    Another Rollercoaster ride...

    Evening all,

We have just finished our evening meal and everyone is settled watching television or dozing so I think now is a good time to bring you up to date with what happened last week.

The hospital contacted me after confirming that I would definitely be receiving the trial drug to arrange this weeks appointment.  They asked me to travel down on Monday when I would have a blood test then stay down as they had booked me in for my infusion on Wednesday at around three in the afternoon.  It would...

  • Stop this ride....I want to get off !!!
    It's Sunday.

    Sunday 12 February 2017

It's been a quiet few days really. The T chemotherapy side effects seem to have settled down now but  I have a feeling my fingernails may be starting to suffer, they look and feel a bit bruised. Other than that I just feel a bit tired now and again. I'm pretty sure my hair is starting to grow back. Only two more sessions to go now.

Yesterday hubby wanted to go out with a friend to watch the rugby, so I dropped them off in town and had a quiet afternoon...

    Final chapter

This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to write.  Mum died.  She was so strong and brave and she fought and clung on to life right till the end but her body couldn't cope any longer. I was there and am so grateful I got to say goodbye properly.

It's hard because we knew it was a 'terminal' illness but she was doing so well we thought we had a lot more time with her. She literally went downhill very suddenly overnight.  I literally don't know how to carry on.  My life ended when she...

    (3) I think I've nearly beaten this phobia !!

First week of radiotherapy treatment gone over already ! 6 down, 14 to go. After the first treatment in the mask last Friday went without panic, the 20 min sessions on Monday and Tuesday (Scan + treatment) went really well (still with the aid of a little tablet). The rest of the week I barely had time to listen to half way through the second track of my CD when it was mask unclip time, and all over with !! By yesterday (Friday), I was just lying there breathing totally normally (no big gasped breaths...

    Ups and downs.

    Wednesday 8th February.

It's been a strange week, after the first dose of T chemo last Tuesday I thought I was doing well until the side effects hit on Thursday evening, I thought by Saturday evening that all was ok and that things were settling down, I was wrong.

Hubby had suggested going to see our grandson and daughter and partner for a few days which I was so looking forward to when I went to bed Saturday night. I didn't sleep much due to hot flushes keeping me awake so I suppose when...

    On achieving a partial response

It sounds very undramatic, I think: I have achieved a partial response. But it's amazing. It means my tumours have shrunk by half since starting this therapy in mid November 2016 and my CA125 is down from just over 580 at the start to 56 in mid January. The cancer is in retreat.

That was the news yesterday and I must say I did feel like cartwheeling round the cancer centre. As I sat grinning over a cup of tea in the in-house Costa, though, there was a woman at the next table in tears so her meeting...

A Goal Without a Plan is Just a Wish

I’m feeling a bit like someone who made a New Year’s Resolution but whose enthusiasm is flagging.  The positivity and determination I had when I set all my goals is just not there a lot of the time.  So, to light the necessary fire underneath my backside, I’ve decided to write...get it down in black and white for all to witness.

Life has thrown some obstacles (aside from the obvious!) in my path to achieving my goals:

    1. I came down with a chest infection and then sickness bug the week...

  • The oesophagus has to go... And associated dribbling!
A day of Cisplatin followed by 5FU – in a pump – to take out….

Another day in the chair - in the time it had taken to say hello to Pete, taken my Emend anti Emetic pill, fended off a barrage of tea offers and logged into the network, I was half way through my fluids, intravenous anti Emetic and wotnot – with just about enough time to spare for an episode of “Breaking Bad” before getting into the Cisplatin Chemo drug for 3 hours…

That whistled past – with a couple of visits to the loo to freshen up after all the tea and assorted lashings...
