Hi there. I haven't been on here for about two years. When I had lung cancer.. I am now worried as I have developed a new lump near and around my groin area. This seems to be spreading to top of thigh and has made one side if my genitals to swell up. This can be painful at times. It's quite bulbous. Waiting for an ultrasound . Anyone else had this. I was first diagnosed with uterine and cervical cancer. And that came after I had been going to the doctor for more than six months complaining of vaginal thrush. He kept giving me creams and suppositories. It was while he was away and a locum was attending his offices that I got to see a conscientious doctor. After having such a good month in June, we have been waiting patiently for this morning to come... it has been quicker than we thought it would be, but it has been extremely stressful. Restless nights, brain working overtime, thinking of the 'what ifs'.
Food continues to go down well, although Dal does seem to consume even more fizzy drinks, but I suppose the more food he can eat the more drink he needs to help manage that.. .so it is not too bad a thing... his weight gain continues, and...
3 courses of antibiotics, 3 nasal sprays and a tube of antibiotic eye ointment later and there's no improvement!
I seem to be spending most days visiting my local chemist and buying anything I think might unblock my hooter!! Decongestant spray, olbas oil, vicks vaporub, saline nasal rinses, I'm breathing steam as recommended by the doctor 4 - 5 times a day, 2 hot showers a day but nothing seems to work for any length of time.
As the days go by other symptoms seem to be creeping in like pressure...

I have never involved myself in social media or blogging of any kind before but since being diagnosed with an HPV driven sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma or a SNUC for short, I have found so much support and helpful information on here I thought that maybe starting a blog about sinus cancer and my own experience of SNUC and the treatment I've had and I'm about to receive might be of some use to other people, not just going through sinus cancer but any kind....
What a fantastic month June has been!
Dal weighed in at 13st 10 & 1/8th up 2lb since last time such a good sign. He continues to take Lansoprazole 30mg but only once a day as apposed to the two a day he had been taking in May. A week after his first chemo, Dal stopped taking any other pain killers, he had been on the maximum amount of pain killers prior to chemo, he was woken in the night with pain, but now, there was no need, there was no pain.
You may recall that Dal had been on mashed food...
I just wanted to share my journey which has been nowhere near as bad as I had feared. From Diagnosis, to treatment and surgery and Hair Loss with a dose of Covid-19 thrown in for good measure. I believe laughter and a positive mindset are the best coping mechanisms. If you worry it will change nothing, but it will make you miserable. If you laugh and are positive it may not change anything but boy does it make the journey so much easier.
