    new just saying Hi!!
Hi, just tucked mum up in bed, she has terminal pancreatic cancer, recently had a stent replaced but is still very weak and jaundiced, each morning I'm hoping some of her energy has come back, but not sure if it will. Although she is 82 yrs she was very active and is a strong, gentla and wonderful mum. Its late and quiet in the house as family in bed, this is my 'emotial' time (I keep it wrapped up most of the time). was trying to get on the chat but haven't been able to manage it yet, it never...

My Dad has has 2 lots of x 5 radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. he has secondarys in his lungs. He was admitted to hospital last Friday with severe pain in the soft tissue at the back of his arm. This had been going on for a while but he had'nt told me. Mum had been rubbing in Ibulieve which Dad said had helped a bit. On Friday the Doctors examined him and he was quite tender under his arm. Alarm bells began ringing in my ears, has it now spread to his lymph nodes?? the docs were quite useless...

Me and 11 platelets - out for a drink!
Hi All again As some of you know I have AML and actually feel extremely well - I have been reading some of your blogs where you are worrying about platelets crashing to 200. Well - when I went for bloods last Wed my platelets were sitting at 11! I am going next Fri for blood transfusion which will probably put them up slightly. What I can't understand is how I am still alive - perhaps I am an alien? I went out tonight for a drink with friends and kept thinking - My God - my platelets are sitting...

    at the beginning
Hi all this is my 1st blog on here. Today my mum got results for her cat scan for her cancer in her oesophagus and was told that it hasn't spread which is good news but her lymph node gland things are enflammed which she is saying is normal due to where the cancer is which is near her stomach. There was talk a few weeks ago about an operation but she has now been told that there is no op and that chemo and radiotherapy works best with this type of cancer. She now has to have a Pet scan just waiting...

    Side effects kick in
... it shouldn't really come as a surprise but it has... to hubby. He walks up a few steps and is out of breath. If life had gone to plan he would have been climbing Killimanjaro next week and here he is, struggling to get upstairs and nothing to do with altitude. He's also been feeling nauseaus alot. He's not actually sick but feels lousy. This last couple of days he has gone to bed for the afternoon - he probably would have slept through dinner too had I not woken him. He has to take medication...

    Living with my unwelcome guest!
As already I stated I was only diagnosed with AML a few weeks ago - fortunately my family although shattered are all grown up - must be so hard for those of you who are seriously ill and have young children to care for. Anyway I have decided to look on my illness as an unwelcome guest and call him Luke - I didn't want Luke here at all - but now I have to learn to live with him. The thing he hates most is me being happy and cheerful - so I am determined to be that as much as is possible. He loves...

    Is this real?
I have just spent the morning at work providing beauty treatments for several clients, I'm now at home listening to my delightful children arguing and throwing cushions at each other. Its just gone very dark outside and a rumble of thunder just resounded near by. I can hear police sirens in the distance and the downpour of rain that has just begun. I'm wondering if my son is ok at his friends house and what I am going to do for dinner as I need to go shopping. I'm thinking about phoning mum to...
