Day 11 Bertie Bassets Return Journey

Another good night with no temp or diarrhoea. He is still very confused though, and even though I know it's not really funny some of the things he is saying are very amusing.

It has taken me a week to get my ironing done (not that this is new) Bert usually does all the housework so it is difficult to keep up . But as it is only me there I don't mind I will clean when I get the time.

I am having trouble finding stuff for Bert to eat everything I take him he doesn't fancy I can only assume...

    Happy Birthday Ray x x x

Today, it is my darling Ray's birthday. He would have been 55 if he had made it to this day.  Why is life so cruel as to rob a person of all the years they should have been enjoying.

So Ray, because I am unable to say this to you in person I will do it here.

As you sit amongst the Angels,

    Please listen to my prayer

I want to say "I love you"

and wish that you were here.

So if you have seen this post

One thing I have to say

I love you with all my heart

    and wish you 'happy...

    darkness my friend
    Darkness my friend,
    Hide me well,
I’ve been here before please don’t tell,
Yes it’s our secret but you know,
Tears I’ve cried I feel low,
It’s been a bad day don’t let them see,
    Darkness my friend,
    Please hide me,

    Darkness my friend,
    You hide me well,
My feelings are clear as you can tell,
It’s our secret no-one need know,
This is my life highs and lows.

    Moving on...

Ive been a member of this site for a couple of days now, its been a revelation and I am constantly reminded of that old addage, " you dont have to look very far to find people worse off than yourself".  How true, ive been in the chat room and enjoyed some insane conversations.  Ive read some sad profiles and a lot of people are facing situations that I would not like to face, but I still have my worries, I wish in a way that it was just the AML and the depression but its not  and I cant seem...

    Everyday worries

I am starting to think I may be looking for places that the cancer has spread to with dad.  I was with him yesterday and he looked awful, which makes me worry more.  He had a CT scan in May which they the tumour had spread to his stomach and his lymph nodes, my brain worries about where it has spread to in this time since May.  He was trying to tell us something yesterday and me or mum couldnt figure out what he was trying to tell us, this is happening a lot which make me think it may have spread to...

    25 September 09

Just thought I would keep a blog of mum's illness.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer through route screening and had her left breast removed approx 2 weeks later.

They removed 3 lymph nodes at this time and we got the devestating news about 10 days ago that there was cancer there also.  She is hoping to go into hospital 5 October to have the rest of her lymph nodes removed.

I just don't know what is going to happen if there is cancer in the rest of them.  How are we going to cope?  What...

    Mushy chemo

I had chemo yesterday.  It was one of the more quieter days there.  Seems like everyone was off for the day or busy or whatever, but I liked it.  Gave me time to rest a bit and chat with my nurses.  Wonderful women.  Although one of them had a cold and was actively sniffing with a sneezr thrown in.  That worries me, but it was an extra day she picked up for work so I imagine she felt compelled to come to work. But cancer treatment areas are no place for contagious disease...her manager should prohibit it...

Sometimes its nice to be distracted by something random.....

I know this is completely off topic... but sometimes i find it really therapeutic to distract myself from constantly assessing, worrying, planning and get the old brain juices flowing with something thought provoking, this piece of text has stunned me each time i read it... the fact it is also poetic is always a bonus :)

i hope i havent revealed the secret hippy inside by posting this!
