Day 11 Bertie Bassets Return Journey

Hi Babybear, Yes the chemo plays havoc with their tastebuds something awful.  Then it becomes about texture.  I made Dave lots of soups.  For some reason he was able to take those very well.

HI Babybear, when I was having all that dreadful chemo I didnt eat for weeks, i lost so much weight, when I got home I found that trying to eat my favourites didnt help. But when I tried things I wouldnt normally eat a lot tasted better, I think it might be something to do with taste expectaion and the fact that the chemo does change the taste of things. try something he can eat but doesnt eat often, but a smaller portion.  ONce he gets going again it will improve over the weeks. love and hugs to you both. xoxoxoxox

Oh and you keep laughing hun, I am sure he will too when he realises and will be glad he has given you some amusement. Perhaps you could write them down and look forward to telling him when he is better.  xoxoxox

Thanks ladies. Lori I think I will try soups he was looking for minced beef tonight so I will make some of that too. Lynne you are right it is good for us to keep laughing although he doesn't find it funny but sometimes if I don't laugh I feel I will cry and not stop. Especially when he phones and ask why I never visited and I just spent 2 hours with him and he could not remember. granted he was asleep some of the time but he was up sitting in a chair talking to me but he forgot.
