I just wish I could do something, anything.

I learned today that my friend is in a hospice and 'uncommunicative', probably a coma. We are 'estranged' as they say, do to a probably chemo inspired spat that involved old issues, that surfaced. Uncertainty=stress I've learned.

Devastated, I got the news from Canada's social services, as they were prob trying to figure what to do with her kids. I'm still unsure of what I can do, if anything. Watching my neighbour's kids grow up has been like watching a trainwreck, in...

    Feeling LOW LOW LOW

I didnt go to work today.  Have only been back 3 days but I couldnt face it.  I cried all day instead.  I did call in on the friend yesterday evening and tried to talk but I knew she wasnt getting it so I gave up.  In people's efforts to help, try and make you feel better and NOT say the wrong they, they desperately try to clutch at straws and say positive things which really dont help.  I just want someone to listen!  I know I sound really horrible and ungrateful which I am not, at all, I do understand...

    NHL/metal hip replacement

I had a hip replacement in 9/08 and was diagnosed with NHL in 8/09, by which time the tumour, located close to the hip replacement, was >10 cm. Does anyone know of a similar 'coincidence'?

    Big Decisions

... well, we met the Uroligist in Liverpool and he was a very nice man. Our plane from our tiny island to Liverpool was 4 hours delayed due to fog in Liverpool - bad luck or what? We arrived at the clinic in Liverpool and the surgeon had actually waited - he and us were the only people there! He spent quite alot of time with us too explaining exactly what the options were and that whatever we decided it needed to be done quickly and he was willing to alter his schedule to accommodate - really nice...

    Yeah!

I'm a volunteer.  I've filled in all my forms and had a trial run in a charity office today.  I'm going to do 2 afternoons a week so long as I feel ok.  I'm hoping this will give me a kick start into the jobs market as I couln't continue working in school - not enough energy to run round with tinies! The cancer treatment last year really tired me out.

I can now try for an office qualification - the local college say you have to be in an office to take the course.

    Shock and disbelief he's gone

My husband passed away on the 13th sept, it was his funeral tues 22nd. I have an 11yr old son and i'm 37. My husband was 9months from 1st diagnosis. he actually got the all clear at the end of may then we found out on the 28th aug it had returned and he died on the13th sept. I'm struggling to carry on with anything at the moment but have to push myself for my son, but all i'd really like to do is not get up in the morning, but going to bed at night feels worse than trying to get up in the morning...
