Following a relitavley quiet weekend, John has had his repeat MRI on tuesday. We are now on pins waiting to see the oncologist on friday afternoon for the news. I was hoping that maybe he would ring just to say its all ok, but no, not this time! Am i being paranoid!
Ironically, John has been brilliant this week, but i dont want to get pulled into a false sense of security as last time i thought this and let the guard down we had the terrible blow that the bugger had started growing again, earth...
Hi
Probably shouldn't worry but I found a pea size lump in my arm muscle 4 weeks ago. GP said shouldn't be cancer (wrong place/shape/feel) but with my history of cancer to go back after 3 weeks & see if it's grown - it hadn't. I seem to have felt it so many times I'm surprised there's no bruise. Anyway the gynaecologist saw me for a routine checkup yesterday and said could just wait & see - but he coudn't see it being cancer. If it was worrying me they could take...
It's been a week since Mum died. Just like that, so unexpected.
I'm going to try to make sense of it here.
Mum was doing well, really positive.
She fell, but seemed ok. Have discovered that she couldnt use her legs after that.
Monday
Last Monday she had problems breathing and was taken to A+E. She was responding, sitting in bed, with oxygen. It just seemed like a temporary problem of some kind. We stayed at A+E into the wee small hours, until they decided to keep her in.
Tuesday
Spoke...
Not a 'Belle Jour' at all.
It was helping - this writing a blog business. But it is slightly creepy, this idea that you have, foolishly, trusted people on a site like this, with things you would not have said to anyone you felt did not understand and to ....well, blah, to all that.
Do you know how I really spent the day - after I have picked myself up from the stuff going on here? On the phone, to explain to the GP that to someone with cancer of the oesophageous, who can eat very little...
woke up and it was 8.30 - i am normally up and getting ready to be going off to the dog field at this time - my little one was in the lounge getting ready for school - she wouldn't go straight to school though as it is not the done thing to go into school half way through a lesson so we would have to wait until 10am - what do i do - mia was sat there looking at me with tail wagging - i decided that even if i only got half an hour before school i would take her to the field while the little one...
Hi everyone
My lovely sister in law has just found out that she has secondary bone cancer(primary in the breast)She has been told that she will be having zometa(a bisphosphonate)by infusion but she has problems with her veins and with canulas so i was wondering if any of you lovely people know of any other way it can be administered, apparently it can't be done with a hickman line.
Any advice would be great
Thanks in advance

Hi,This time 7 weeks ago I was just coming out of the Gym as per usual, I thought I had better chase up my Pleural Biopsy results as it had been 6 weeks since I was in hospital. My wife and I were thinking no news is good news, how wrong we were. I now await appointments for radio/chemotherapy. Mesothelioma (I can write it but cant pronounce it) Thanks for taking your precious time to read this
A friend has head and neck cancer. Palliative treatment only now. His partner phoned me tonight. (they live 200 miles from me).. He has a PEG tube in for the past few months. Tongue is gettting bigger and she is exhausted with all the washing because he is dribbling and coughing up fluids. I think she needs help with this and have been looking on websites for disposable waterrpoof pads to protect bedding etc.
Apparently these will not be supplied by nurses. Why ?? Macmillan nurse has been out today...
