Well am back at work today after having a couple of days off after being told I have cancer. Cant just sit around the house moping even if thats all I want to do. Someones got to pay the bills. Still running tests so dont even know what treatment will be let alone how much time I am going to have off so figured while I can better keep working. Its hard though to concentrate on what seems like such meaningless stuff now. Not to mention listen to everyone else complaiin about such trivial crap.......
If you are diagnosed with cancer. get help from macmillan or a councillor straight away. do not try to go it alone. the more help you get the better you will feel. I thought i was going to die when they first told me so i when to macmillan and they gave me some good advice. just because you have cancer it doesnt mean your live is over!
Well here I am trying to gear up to round two of the chemo cycle.
I took the bull by the horns on Friday and had my head shaved, I think the hairdresser bless her was more upset than me, in a strange way it was comforting to know that that is it it has gone and no more hair trails to follow around the house.
Had a huge bust up with my oldest daughter yesterday which resulted in me asking her to go and stay with her mate for a few days as at the moment she seems to be more of a hinderance than a...
Had a fight with my husband this morning....
He thinks I am shutting him out. Not talking to him about what is going on. Dont get me wrong he is absolutely fantastic and wants to help me through this and would do absolutely anthing for me. So I dont know why I just dont want to talk to him about this.
I am telling myself that its because i dont want to upset him by saying how i really feel.that im trying to protect him......He just says im in denial and its not healthy.
I just want to pretend...
Is it wrong to shout at the person that you love most in the word when you know that they have a terminal illness and you keep being told to make the most of the time that you have with them? My dad is so angry at the moment and is lashing out at everyone, mainly my mum and me. I feel so sorry for her as she takes so much and he is so nasty. The venom when he shouts is awful to watch and mum is really struggling with it at the moment. She seems so down bless her and I don't know what to do to help...
This is a new journey for me- unexpected diagnosis on Breast screening -and devastated by the diagnosis. My days are currently completly dominated by thoughts of cancer. I have been told cure is the aim but the journey is obviously going to be difficult. Devastated by trying to come to terms with never being able to return to work. My manager, on the day my husband told him my diagnosis - just 24 hours after I had been told - gahthered together the workforce and announced I had Breast Cancer, an...
I am currently, just over 2 years post-treatment for Nasopharyngeal Cancer (Head & Neck) and recently I have noticed that I seem to loose my balance, now and again, for no apparent reason!
I know that my treatment can cause hearing problems, but does anyone know if your sense of balance can be effected at this late stage!!
At first I thought that I was just being a wee bit clumsy and I tended to laugh it off but after stumbling ,when I stopped at a pedestrian crossing, I have become a bit anxious...
Just thought someone might like to see these pieces that have been in Wales' media this week, trying to raise awareness for the petition for more funding for brain tumour research in our corner of the world

Well been told I have cervical cancer this week.
Head is all over the place...
Still waiting on more tests to confirm spread/size so that I know what treatment will be.
Think I have gone through every emotion under the sun all at the same time. I am simultaneously, happy, sad, andgy, relieved, jealous, scared........
And I know I should be staying positive, and i have a lot to be grateful for but really today I am just pissed off.
Im 28, and instead of planning to have a family with me beautiful...
Dad say consultant yesterday and for once we had "good news". His blood count is holding and he is generally a lot better since being taken off the drug trial and put back on Sutent. Apparently there are 4 still on the drug trial for whom there has been "some" degree of improvement.
Dad is now on sutent full time (no breaks anymore as they think its better) and seems to be coping so much better, not sure if its because he now takes the medication in the morning as apposed to...
