    doing my 20mile jouney..

    off to hospital , to visit hubby, taxi to train station, train to manchester, bus to the christie, so thats 20 miles there and then retun journey...iv only lived up here for 9 months and iv see more of manchester than i did my home town down south...lol....hope today brings you all peace, comfort, and pain free...hugs to you all.........................xxx

  • My dad throat and lung cancer.
    Is it wrong as a son & carer to think about myself

    I definatly put my dad first ,i mean i left my job and flat to look after him and get him through this but as he lives in a housing assosiation rented house if the worst happend which i hope dosent what will happen to me ,i do feel guilty for having these thought and asking these questions but it just plays in the back of my head aswell as other questions but is this normal or am i being selfish?

  • my mum and me
    hair today gone tomorrow

    had to cut mums hair off yesterday well what was left made me feel so sad .she looked really nice in her haed scarf and has had her wig styled but iit was still upseting for her .she came out of hospital on sunday in time for my birthday so that made her happy and her white blood cell count was ok .just have to see how it is today as she should be having her second lot of fec but has been warned it may not happen if her white count not high enough .hopefully its ok shes been told she might have to...

    when will he be home!!!!

    my wonderful hubby is still in hospital, had ct scan waiting for results, so they might do an mri tomorrow , hate seeing him in so much pain , the nurse explained that he had a massive astma attack after his chemo, so now hes on oxygen, so i wonder what tomorrow will hold......:-( im just feeling so low, and hubby is getting depressed,as we dont know whats going on, just want him home it feels like my left arm is missing were always together, feels like my heart has been riped out, hate feeling like...

  • WLE AND SPILT SKIN GRAFT (CONTAINS PHOTOS OF A GRAPHIC NATURE)
    3 WEEKS 1 DAY AFTER SURGERY (EXPLICIT PHOTOS)

    Hi everyone... Just back from plastic dressings clinic.

    GROIN - the liquid gushing out is now clear and not infected so happy with the that. Just got to keep and eye on any further infections.

    GRAFT DONER SITE - pretty much healed

    SNB WOUND - see photos below. only a little bit of sluff yet  to come off and a fair bit of over granulation but its all under control. Monday they will start to deal with the over granulation.

    I am hoping to get back to work in 2 weeks so I am staying very positive...

    How time passes by...Soldier on...

    I felt like blogging because I'm feeling a little sad today, a year ago on this day I arrived home back In Australia after 5 years in London. Today was also the day we had our family meeting with the hospital nurses and doctors and learnt of the reality of mums condition. It's a sad time for me remembering the lead up to moving back home, feeling relentless anxiety for mum, not knowing what to expect yet fearing the worst. I've been listening to a lot of music lately and reflecting on our journey...

    Back To Work

    Feeling really great now working for a minimum 3 hours a day 5 days a week. Still feeling a bit tired at end of the 3 hours but definitely an improvement on the last couple of weeks. So to everyone else out there keep your spirits up trust in your specialists and have faith in your lord whoever he is. It is definitely beatable.

    prostate brachytherapy

    well i have seen my consultant on monday 19th april,and i thought i was going to start radiotherapy,but it seems that i will have to have another injection first and another scan to mark me up,also he asked if i would be intrested in brachytherapy,if theres anybody thats had this procedure could you let me know as i would be intrested to see how you got on,my psa level has dropped to 6 from 32 so at least that is coming down,the injections are giving me sweats all the time and making me tired,we...

  • My dad throat and lung cancer.
    Nervous ,worried,anxious

    My dad was diagnosed with throat and lung cancer about a month back now and after all the test and stuff is finally starting chemo today i just hope things go well as reading some other blogs on here thing can turn a bit bad ,but i guess if its for the best then it needs to be done i just hope im strong enougth to hanndle anything that may happen and get my dad through this very rough time.

    Returning to work

    I am hoping to return to work on a 'phased return' does anybody know what is a reasonable time schedule.  I've been off work for just over a year battling with ovarian cancer. I work in a primary school and  I am looking to return to 2 consecutive mornings a week for a number of weeks and gradually increasing it to the full 5 days a week before the end of the summer term.  By September I hope (PG) to be back full time.  Has anybody out there gone back to work on a 'phased return' and if so...
