I am hoping to return to work on a 'phased return' does anybody know what is a reasonable time schedule. I've been off work for just over a year battling with ovarian cancer. I work in a primary school and I am looking to return to 2 consecutive mornings a week for a number of weeks and gradually increasing it to the full 5 days a week before the end of the summer term. By September I hope (PG) to be back full time. Has anybody out there gone back to work on a 'phased return' and if so...
god im feeling so isolated, hubby still not home, but hes in the best place possible, just miss him so much not use to not having him around, all i can hear is the cat snoring...lol even hes missing him......x what will tomorrow bring???? ..........:-(
Hi not been on here for a long time as i started back to work part time sometimes it is a real struggle , i have 3 days left of of my 30 fractions of radiotherapy ! i hve an awful rash on chest and neck itchy and sore !! i have also a little trouble swallowing i have to have a soft diet which is getting quite boring! i have also been having really awful flu like symptoms it is awful feel really rough !! im sorry to moan but feel terrible and sometimes wish it would end i way or the other !!
Hi, I am Keith, I had a very bad cough and very little energy which was very unusual for me, I was tired all the time as well. I decided I had to go to see my GP about it all. Because i had been a smoker all of my life, he dicided I probably had a broncial infection so gave me antibiotics,and an inhaler, needless to say these did nothing to help. After taking the course of tablets I went back to the doctors and saw a different doctor who actually had the nerve to say there was nothing wrong with me...
Just want to write my experience down to help others going through same traumatic experience.
In late December 2009 went to doc with what I thoughyt was a case of laryngitis which would not go away. Doc immediately referred me to specialist. was given an nasal endoscopy at end of December and hauled in for a biopsy in early January. Ten days after biopsy was measured for mask and three days later was undergoing course of radiotherapy. I also benefitted from a lot of prayer from all my friends...
hubby had chemo yesterday!!! and had a reaction and couldnt breath, so he has spent the night in the christie, spoke to him this morning he sounds a bit better, he might be home later, iv never cried so much as i did last night, just feeling isolated as were away from friends and family, just want to move and get extra support from our loved ones....see im rambling again...lol!!!!!!! just had a phone call to say he may have to stay-in another night , hes gone to have x-ray on his chest as they think...
Hello to all you lovely people, got to hospital to find oncologist stuck in a far off land unable to get back to UK.
Saw registrar and the news she could tell me is it is in various spots down the spine mainly in sacrum, small spot in left breast(the one I had surgery on) and need another MRI this time for the liver.
She did say no chemo but a change in hormone medication and biophosphanates(think that's right). Nothing will change until I see consultant 17th May.
On the whole people I think...
I'm having chemo for secondary breast cancer and despite the support of family and friends i feel totally alone and isolated at home.
hi to all my friends on here just to let you all know my partner sarah died on tuesday 13/04/10 she went quick and pain free. I will miss her so much. hope to speak to you soon

I have not been on here for so long, but need to write my thoughts down. I shall probably waffle on, my darling husband is so ill now and I am losing him. Feel so bloody angry, helpless, sad it really seems to be sinking in now. What will we do without him, cannot not imagine my life or my childrens lives without him.
