    D Day tomorrow

Tomorrow is my PET scan to see if this cyst on my liver which I have had from the start is just that a harmless cyst.

I am feeling very very scared and anxious, my heart is pounding and I feel sick.

I keep telling myself that it is best to find out for sure, and if it is bad news then we can crack on and do something about it. It doesn't help me.

I just want this to be over. I have the same sinking feeling I had during my darling husbands illness, like I have a noose around my neck and it...

  • WLE AND SPILT SKIN GRAFT (CONTAINS PHOTOS OF A GRAPHIC NATURE)
    MONDAY 31ST MAY (graphic pics)

    Hi

Less pain today but still enough.... and less fluid or smell from the wound so maybe the antibiotics are doing their stuff.

Nurse at the walkin centre did the same routine of picking off sluff and chrystalised bits as much as my pain barrier would allow. then prontosan soaking and more debriding. then bandage up. More this time to try and stop the xupad and iodoflex pushing downwards.

tomorrow i have appointment with dressings clinic. maybe the result of the swab taken saturday. maybe they...

Smoking until the end - any advice?

    Hello.

This is my first ever blog and not entirely sure what I'm doing!

My father has been given a very short prognosis of a number of weeks. He originally had bladder cancer which was treated but the treatment masked the effects of rare cancer cells originating in the pancreas and travelling to the peritoneum around the intestines and stomach.

He is an alcoholic and has smoked at least a packet of cigarettes a day for over 30 years. There does not appear to be a direct link between this...

  • Chemo in progress
    2nd Chemo

I was not able to take my 2nd chemo on the 28th May because my white blood cell count was really low - 0.6 and it has been postponed till 4th June.

I am sad but what can I do??? I hope my wbc would have increased by then. Oncologist said I will be taking injections to help my wbc.

Meanwhile, my lumps has reduced but it keeps itching me from inside. My hair has gone and my scalp aches me. Is that normal?

I am having terrible trouble eating at the moment as I feel so guilty that I can  eat and Tom can't. I know I must as I do not want to make myself ill.Tom is having a real struggle at the moment getting any food at all down ,even things like mashed potato with loads of butter and milk will not go down.He has never moaned once since the day he was diagnosed but for the first time today he said he was fed up not being able to eat.It is so so hard watching the person you love deperately trying any food...

a brief history of my husband journey through neuro endocrine in france

In may 2004 my husband arrived back from a week away at work, he felt tired and thought he may have picked up a cold.

Briefly within a week he was in hospital with septacaemia thought to have come from untreated and nasty bout of athletes foot!

During routine blood tests alarm bells rang when some unusual results came through.

Again briefly but a few weeks later he had a scintagraphie and was diagnosed with neuro endocrine cancer.

In december of the same year he has surgery to removed some of...

I can taste again, go out and be social , ok dietary and no alcohol are limiters but still able to have some fun. I have got my MRI dates, so suscpect operation is two weeks after that, so have at least 6-8 weeks to go before I know how successful the treatments were. Back to the...
