MONDAY 31ST MAY (graphic pics)

Less than one minute read time.

Hi

Less pain today but still enough.... and less fluid or smell from the wound so maybe the antibiotics are doing their stuff.

Nurse at the walkin centre did the same routine of picking off sluff and chrystalised bits as much as my pain barrier would allow. then prontosan soaking and more debriding. then bandage up. More this time to try and stop the xupad and iodoflex pushing downwards.

tomorrow i have appointment with dressings clinic. maybe the result of the swab taken saturday. maybe they have some new solutions for me.

hope everyone is having a good bank holiday weekend.

So sorry you are having "wound" problems Peter, as if having MM isnt enough.  I sincerely hope they soon get the infection under control so healing can take place.  You have had a rough journey, - I think I was lucky with mine, - it took 9 to 10 weeks to get it healed and I had no infection problems, - they didn't use as much medication on me as you have had, - just the jello-net and thick padded dressings, - I found the tubigrip really uncomfortable as it kept rolling down.  They did have to treat the wound with silver nitrate quite a few times to prevent the over-granulation, which I remember the nurse saying is a pain to deal with in these type of wounds.

At the moment I am looking after my husband who has had major prostate cancer surgery, - as you can imagine we are bit fed up of the C word in our house.

    Best wishes

    xxxLynn
