Well thats the first chemo out the way, have to say was a totally woos when I went into the room and seen these, what looked like dental chairs, broke down, thankfully had a wonderful person with me who was great. A full six hours later escaped!! Was on adrenellin for the rest of the night, had pictured projectile vomiting immediately. Didnt feel too bad the next day but just feel so tired and extreme joint and muscle pain, has anyone else had this and how long does it last!! Just taking one day...
Well, at least I managed to get throug the mri this time without a complete meltdown. Drugs certainly do help to calm the nerves, lol. And now we have the nervous wait to find out if the cancer is localised to the original spot, or has spread. Am not very good at this part. So many emotions have been bought back to the surface of the bubbling couldrin that is me, and all these new ones on top threaten to make me explode. Im so frustrated with myself, I know that we just have to stay calm and wait...
Hi I have just had a polyp removed from my anus, it came back as showing signs of invasive cancer. I had my appointment yesterday with the consultant, I was told that luckily the cancer has not travelled to any other parts of my body which I know is incredible, but and there always seems to be a but, he told me that I now had a decision to make.
In 90% of people with the same as myself the cancer is all gone when the polyp is removed but in 10% of people microscopic cancer cells have gone into the...
I have good news lately with the new that the first Sirtex treatment worked, to what extent they didn't really tell me. Second dose results are still a good 8 weeks away, so I will be probing them more. I'm hoping that most of them, like 90% will have shrunk and be responding. If not I think I am still in a fair bit of trouble.
When i first spoke to the oncologist about my scans and the tumours, I had the number 5 in my head. It seems to be my unlucky number. That would have been a result...

…..junior style. Picture the scene, the Bad Fairy family trundling along in the car early on a Monday morning and the following conversation takes place. Master BF, “Where’re we going? Oh, it’s the hospital. Why? It’s sooo boring!” Me, “I have to have my weekly blood test so we won’t be here long.” Master BF, “That’s no fun. It’s so sooooo boring.” Miss BF, “ Don’t moan! It’s not fun for Mum either. She has to have...
Hi everyone, I read post regularly but am a bit shy in writing myself, however today I feel I must. It is a year today that I recieved the worst news that I had NSCLC, inoperable and terminal. I remember feeling that I would not see Christmas with my gorgeous girls 8 and 12. However one year on I have just returned from a huge family holiday in Spain and also took my hubby and girls to Cyprus in May and I feel on top of the world and my cancer is stable. I feel like doing a dance today and sticking...
I would like to thank you all. Unfortunately i was not on the site long, but i did get a great deal of support and kind words from you all. Last week i felt so alone at times i needed to 'talk' to anyone. I found this site and poured out my thoughts, was good to release some of the emotion i was going through.
I wont name you all who gave your time and kind words to my blogs, (i would hate to miss anyone out)
I will say your kind words to my first blog got me to understand how my mum...
Hello everyone. I've just joined today so I thought I would say hello. I am one of those rarities, being a male sufferer from breast cancer who had a bi-lateral mastectomy in November 2007. I was just getting over the operation and returned to work when I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Happy retirement Mr Mac. Its funny though, that after coping with surgery, radiotherapy and drug treatment I'm typing this with a bad back and I am hell to live with at the moment. I will gladly share experiences...
