Straight talking

1 minute read time.

…..junior style.

Picture the scene, the Bad Fairy family trundling along in the car early on a Monday morning and the following conversation takes place.

Master BF, “Where’re we going? Oh, it’s the hospital. Why? It’s sooo boring!”

Me, “I have to have my weekly blood test so we won’t be here long.”

Master BF, “That’s no fun. It’s so sooooo boring.”

Miss BF, “ Don’t moan! It’s not fun for Mum either. She has to have blood tests so she can have her medicine. If she doesn’t have her medicine she’ll die because her liver won’t work and you don’t want that do you?”

Master BF (sheepishly!), “No.”

Miss BF (after a few moments pondering), “Mum, when you’re dead what will you be like?”

Me, “ ……..Smelly!”

Miss BF, “Hmmm, I don’t think you’ll be bad smelly, I think you’ll be good smelly like when you’ve had a shower.”

Not a tear shed, although I admit to a slight lump in the throat, and the conversation ended up discussing Egyptians and cats!!

I think that’s a good sign that the jumbled boxes are slowly being put in order again. Last week that same overheard conversation would have had me in pieces and certainly wouldn’t have received the same contribution from me.

Children, so accepting, so innocent and so utterly loveable and wonderful. All the more reason to do everything to prolong this adventure for as long as possible.

Out of the mouths of babes and all that lol.

My grandson who is coming up for four asked me last week about the baby in his mummy's tummy. He asked if when it comes out will it always be staying with us. When I told him yes, why? he answered, well it might get fed up and leave, but see when it does, can I have a dog instead!

    What can you say?

Glad you're feeling a lot better this week.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

    re: straight talking

What a lovely blog.  There is so much we can learn from kids BF.  I am not on the same road as you but when I was in the middle of my illness my daughter asked if she could have my christmas decorations if I die!!!  I actually like their straight talking innocence, its so much easier to deal with than people trying to say the right thing but then just digging themselves a hole.  Please keep well BF.  I enjoy reading your blogs/story.  Ann xx.

    My dear Bad Fairy

I am so glad that you got those boxes sorted out - it could have been so difficult otherwise.  How you managed is beyond me, but I feel proud on your behalf and slightly in awe.

However, on a lighter note, etherial creatures like fairies, both good and bad, need not concern themselves with such issues because they are all spirit.

    Lots of love,

    xxxx

Well BF - you have a little star in the making of Miss BF I think. Amazes me how their mind works, but never a dull moment I suppose.

Egyptians & Cats eh - there is something in this -

Praised for controlling vermin and its ability to kill snakes such as cobras, the domesticated cat became a symbol of grace and poise. The goddess Mafdet, the deification of justice and execution, was a lion-headed goddess. The cat goddess Bast (also known as Bastet) eventually replaced the cult of Mafdet, and Bast's image softened over time and she became the deity representing protection, fertility, and motherhood.

As a revered animal and one important to Egyptian society and religion, some cats got the same mummification after death as humans. Mummified cats were given in offering to Bast.

So there you have it - maybe you aren't really Bad Fairy, but Bast Fairy !

As Buzzies says - glad the boxes are getting stacked up away. Make sure you seal them well with some strong duct tape to stop the contents spilling out (expcept the bubble & beauty box).

    Love, Jewels x
