For anyone who is having to deal with an idiot or two...
“A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.”
well it made me laugh...

Today my mum went into the hospice for a short stay (week to 10 days the doctors said). She hasn't eaten or drank much for a week and is therefore very weak. She can't stand on her feet at the moment, such is her weakness. She is staying there so she can get treatment and so that hopefully we can get her stronger and home again.
The hospice is a lovely place and she has her own private room. But it was heartbreaking to leave her there. The house feels empty without her and I had the horrible...
I have a significant family history, mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer aged 36 got ovarian cancer 2 years later and eventually died aged 44 from secondary ovarian cancer. The youngest of my aunties on her side to die did so at 28. The oldest was I think in her late forties. My closest cousin on that side died at 40 (her mum was the one that died at 28) and so it goes on through the rest of the family...
For years I was convinced I would die aged 44 and it took a lot of work to...
Yesterday saw my Birthday, and also the beginning of Mums 4th and final cycle of chemo.
Still talk to my husband everyday, thought it gets easier but it doesn't. Take care everyone.

I got my PICC line out after my last round of chemo. I requested this as it was really getting to me. I know this may sound silly but I felt as if I got my body back.
I was a little anxious about going swimming since I only have the one boob now but then suddenly today I thought, 'to hell with it' and off I went to the pool. I got changed and headed out into the pool area lob sided but happy. No one even looked and even if they did I didnt notice. I have suddenly felt so much more confident about...

I don't know what's come over me today but I feel remarkably chipper under the circumstances. Anyone would have thought it was a sunny day as I was singing along to Bananarama at the top of my voice on the way to Northampton this morning. (Good thing about driving yourself is not having to worry about how bad you sound). And then Chris (Evans - it was Radio 2) played one of my all-time favourites Golden Brown by The Stranglers and I realised I was feeling very light-hearted as if on a bright...
Today i has been 7 weeks since i lost my dad. Where has the time gone????
I can't believe it has been 7 weeks since that day, 7 weeks since i last saw him. I just can't believe how quick the time has gone yet in some ways it still feels like it has been one long dream that has only lasted 1 night and if i'm lucky i might still wake up.
This morning i bumped in to someone in our village and she said I was so sorry to hear about your dad, how is his treatment going??
Granted i don't...
I took my daughter to the hairdressers today and after 20 +mins of her screaming and crying "no you are not touching my hair" she calmed down enough to let the nice young girl cut 4 inches off. not that you can really tell with her long blonde locks.
But we have just sat down and i said 'see it wasn't that bad was it' she no but grandad like twisting it.
What can i say???
She says i want to make him happy.
So do i babes i said.
