Palative care came out today. I was worried before hand whether I was going to have the house all clean, mum sorted, sister sorted, incase she thought I wasnt coping well!!!
Though I don't know why i was that irrational as I know that they won't judge me for the tiniest amount of mess, like a pile of washing or an unvacuumed floor but i seem to be irrational about a few things lately, or worry over the most silliest of things!
I managed to get a little sleep last night - well this morning...
OK I think I am making too much jibberish on messengers and community boards. I think I am overtired and need some rest but I actually feel quite hyper. Real bad indigestion too - Maybe I have eaten a magical herb - I wish! - or maybe I have just eaten too much crap from feeling depressed I dunno.
All I have been doing the last couple of days is crying. Crying that much that my eyes are puffy, red, sore, my lips are sooo sore & I am pale in complexion and dark circles under my once sparkly eyes...
Its been a shite week, not health wise for Dave or me but for family and friends........
It started last Tues...............
Daves younger sister rang to say that her hubby was going in for a scan that day, x-rays showed large shadow on his lung, consultant mentioned cancer......bastard. They now join that dreaded waiting game we all hate, he is fine with it.....not having treatment, had a good life (71)....toured the world in his younger days on the racing bike curcuit, had his own bike shop when...
Went to Tenerife last week.Really enjoyed the break.Back at work today and tired out again!! Anyway going to assesment about the retirement on ill health grounds Friday.Being postie brings a bit of pain on around scars and from inside the scars if that makes sense! Dont think I could do manual work eight hours a day anymore!Apart from that seem to be recovering well.Bugs me though that I cant eat as much as I use to.Getting use to it though and was overweight before. So eight months post op now and...
We recieved a leter late last week for mum to go into Hospital and speak with the consultant about her Chemo being started.
Well we were hardly surprised when they turned mum down, saying that she is too weak to undergo it! Her eating has not improved, and she has lost yet more weight. It's gotten to the point now, that I have to take her to the toilet in a wheelchair, or else she will fall over, steady her on the toilet, help wash & bathe her, sit her up in bed, and she is too weak that she can...
I cannot seem to cope any more. Everything seems such a big deal. I'm finding it so hard to get out of bed, even the sheer thought of having to get out and go downstairs brings me to tears. I have no interest in my games that I used to adore. Every little imperfection about myself has blossomed into a big Oak. Gawd. I'm feeling dreadful. I can see myself with the same signs as I had a few years back. I have lost interest in food. I'm hardly drinking any fluid - it makes me gag for some reason. The...
It is strange how a seemingly innocuous remark can set off a chain of events which end up with my husband and I not talking and me screaming like a banshee around the house, desperate to smash up something to vent my anger, and it is he who is receiving chemotherapy!!
I thought I had done everything I could, cooking specific foods to help with his diet, going with him to appointments, encouraging him to be positive when his naturally pessimistic nature took over with regard to his survival from...
These are sentences exactly as typed by medical secretaries in NHS Greater Glasgow
1. The patient has no previous history of suicide.
2. Patient has left her white blood cells at another hospital.
3. Patient's medical history has been remarkably insignificant with only a 40 pound weight gain in the past three days.
4. She has no rigors or shaking chills, but her husband states she was very hot in bed last night.
5. Patient has chest pain if she lies on her left side for over a year.
6. On the second...
Well that was worse than I antoicipated. The other oncologist changed my meds to prevent sickness and instead incrased it 100 fold Wednesday night and Thursday was a blur of vomit, bile and assorted people sticking needles in various parts of my anatomy and then I slowly began to resurface and here I am Sunday still with most of my hair (thank you cold cap) most of my appetitie and ready to start teaching tomorrow again!
Special thanks go to my old friend and daughter's godmother who took her out...
