    hysteroscopy

had a hysteroscopy yesterday, it was awful, I'm surprised they don't give any anaesthetic for this procedure, the consultant doing it said you don't really need it done, I don't expect to find anything as the biopsy taken of your cervix came back clear, I said shall we not bother then?, as I had read that the procedure wasn't pleasant. she replied well we mite as well finish the investigation then you will know we ve covered everything.

well once she started the investigation...

There are no problems, only solutions

The illness came to me in January. It began with a small abnormality, a small number of changing cells most likely, usually go away on their own, easy to treat if we so desire, nothing to worry about. I knew right then, immediately, I just knew. “I’m not having the surgery” I said, not really listening to anything else he was saying. He rocked his head back, leaned back in his chair and laughed, then adopting his serious voice “This will not effect your fertility at all”. He took some cells and some...

    A normal day at last

At last, I feel normal again, 13 days after my first cycle. I have had such a lovely day; my friend and sister came to visit and we had a really normal, relaxing day together. Lunch was nachos and chicken, although it all tasted like it was wrapped in old copper! It was so lovely to feel well again, to laugh and gossip, to catch up and look to the future. I have a week until I go for my next cycle and no matter what it brings, I can't wait. I am assured that my body will get used to this, that the...

    No more treatment?

    Hi all

I'm home after another 8 days in hospital.  Basically once we were back from London the health professionals on my team up here felt that I needed to be admitted as I still had a temperature and my blood cultures were all over the place.

    So in I went.

I was immediately put on a course of antibiotics and settled onto a small ward of four though there was just me and one other lady at this point.

I am not sure how much of how I feel now is still down to the sepsis.  My sense of taste has changed...

The Glass Isn't Always Half Empty

I posted 5 days ago following a gross hematuria about 10 days previously.

I presented my first gross hematuria in late January. For those of you that have been through the experience, it can be absolutely shocking! I'm still not sure what came first, the total surprise at looking down into a lavatory bowl and sighting and grossly exaggerating the view of the volume of blood 'filling it', or the immediate realisation that I could have a major health problem. For a chap like me, the glass is always...

    Work

    Hi everyone

I'm 5 weeks post chemoradiation and starting to feel like the old me!

When is it best to start thinking about returning to work?

I no longer have the need for afternoon naps - result!  Though I am restless of a night with worry and stress.  Trying to remain positive but don't have scan until late October so the wait is long!

    Thanks in advance
