I had the lump removed and a sentinel node biopsy yesterday. I went in at 7.30 am. I was taken down for radioactive injection in the morning. It was a little painful as radiologist explained it was going between layers of skin. I read a book and listened to music. I got so hungry because I hadn't eaten since the night before. I went to theatre at 3.30pm and back on ward around 6. I woke up in a lot of pain but was given painkillers. I was home by 8.30pm wearing very glamorous compression socks.
Two week wait for results now. I was told 20% chance of further surgery if margins not clear. It's going to be hard.
