    A Sense of Normality
I'm Day 7 of Cycle 2 and, I hesitate to write for fear of tempting fate, I feel “not so bad”.  So Day 4 was horrible, but a friend of mine suggested I think of it as a “taking out the trash day” and I think I can rational...

    Still ok
Still ok but not as well as the previous two days, I think it is mainly the constipation problem that seems to come and go. The catheter for some reason has also started to irritate the end of my penis. I changed my wound dressings today they all see...

    National pet month

National pet month written in white text over a photo of a tabby cat putting their paw against a human's palm in a 'high five' motion.

April is National Pet month and we want to take a moment to talk about the support given. For those who have furry, smooth, big or small animals in your lives, you know how much they can affect your wellbeing. In our Animals are family too forum, we see how much animals mean to you and how they have provided support in different ways.

    6 days after operation
Up until now, I have been wandering around the house and garden for my exercise. That changed yesterday, I did not want to overdo it so kept it down to about a mile. Today I have done about one and a half-mile. I feel fine, the only problem I have is...

    High Grade Dyskaryosis

    Hi,

    I’m 32 years old.

I'm FREAKING out!!! I’ve just had my results back from my smear confirming I have HPV virus and high grade dyskaryosis and have been referred for a Colposcopy. Naturally I’ve read the booklet they gave me and looked online and so now I’m freaking out. I had sex 2 weeks ago and bled after which has never happened before, now I’ve convinced myself it’s cervical cancer.

I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Sept 2020 Stage one. I...

Post Robotic assisted radical prostatectomy Operation
I had my operation on the 14th of April and was discharged on the 15th of April. I woke up on the ward a little bit tired but in no pain at all, in fact, if I did not know what I was in for I would never have guessed although I did have a catheter st...

Stuck in limbo, preparing for nipple-off
It’s been a weird week. For the first time since I was diagnosed (25th November) I haven’t had any medical appointments or treatments this week and it has felt very odd. I was so lucky to go straight from diagnosis into a whirlwind of mor...

    Cocktails
Sadly not the gin variety, but Chemo 2, a mix of hormone and chemo drugs! Day 3 of cycle 2 and so far so good (she says with fingers crossed).  Taking the anti sickness meds whether I need them or not seems a good plan and the Omeprazole seems t...
