Post 555: I had my feet up all day, when I wasn’t a nurse.
The Bob’s go home today and another holiday is over which means, you can go on another holiday. Cool!
The very opposite can be said of us because my Darling and I have our usual two week break but we have already mentioned (on this blog) that sadly we’ve chosen not to go north to Cumbria due to my sustained pain.
However there’s something else too now.
My Darling has woken up with a head cold of some stature. She looks like she’s been soundly beaten in a boxing match and her voice is quietly droning on without any of its normal strength and sparkle, so I’m the nurse today.
My nursing capabilities were never that good but I try hard to be attentive and loving at her bedside. But there’s little to do baring filling the water canister and an occasional mug of green tea.
I was downstairs after feeding the cat and myself. It wasn’t till midday I peeled a large blush orange, just like a blood orange but only red across half the fruit. Anyway that went down ok and later in the afternoon my Darling appeared at the lounge door heading for any green tea clearly reflecting poorly on my slow service and lack of nursing this afternoon.
She came into the lounge and stayed, I think she wanted company, so I found an English speaking series to watch that would be tons easier on her sore head.
I quickly found on Netflix a new series called ‘Lupin’, a French national that seems to be taken with books about a Gentleman Thief that stays one step ahead of the Gendarmes while he searches for clues about the death of his long dead Father who, he thinks, is innocent of the crime that put him ‘inside’ (prison).
It’s a fast moving story and a delight to watch. I’d score it 4.7 out of 5.
It’s well worth a look if you’re bored with the sunshine this weekend.
What a cracking day for sunning yourself in the conservatory like Mr Vicious did all day. He absolutely loves the heat but I guess that’s with his winter coat showing through he must have needed a cool floor of the garage to counteract the heat of this wonderful day. Great for driving home for the Bob’s too; I know they came down south in the tail of the last storm to hit the south coast in the rain and bluster. Not nice. But the opposite can be said today so I wish them off well by text and hope they get home safely.
As for me, I had my pain back in my back but not so much in the neck. I sat comfortably all day and well into the evening before crashing out with my Darling around 10 o’clock (pm).
My thoughts about the new dose of pills and the starting up of the Radium 223 treatment are calm today. I’m satisfied that now I chosen the give R223 a go I’ll be doing enough to help myself and that in turn, I think, will help them understand my position about doing all I can to survive as an incurable. I’m certainly going to give it my best shot, I’m definitely behind it now, it’s my best and only treatment other than pills and I need a positive lift to get the pains I have lifted; with any luck.
‘And now for something completely different’; my sleeve tattoo.
I’m blessed with great skin for tattoos due the healing process being so fast. It’s a real help to be honest, and I’ve touched wood just in case ha ha.
But seriously the photo on the blog today doesn’t do it justice but you can see the shading of some animals on my lower arm. Oh, you can’t see to top because of the bed-shirt I’m wearing. I’ll get a better shot after the next sitting on the 10th of November. It’ll be soon here and so will the baba too.
My Darling handed over a pile of baby stuff she had been squirrelling away for months to our youngest and his fiancé plus1 last Thursday after the curry house meal. That means that the rocking chair that was the repository for all that stuff will now need to be disassembled and taken upstairs now.
I can do that.
If I’m allowed.
I hope I can, I’m not an invalid…
Yet.
Take care, whatever you’re doing.
