    Bereavement Counselling

Today I went for my first bereavement counselling session.  I left feeling that what has taken place was profound, for I felt as if I had opened up Pandora's Box with regards to my feelings.  The depth at which I discussed my feelings really shook me and made me think. I hadn't previously thought about the complexity of the reasons why I feel the way I do.  Obviously, there is grief.  But I hadn't thought about the impact of my own powerlessness.  I am a person who feels that they need to...

You've gotta do what you've gotta do !

I should have had the last chemo of cycle 4 today, but received a phone call last night to say it was being delayed a week due to low neutrophils. Then , this morning I got another call asking me to come and have a blood test to see if I could have chemo after all. They were sorry to mess me around, they said , but the pharmacy had specially asked if I could come in. So off I went, had another test and..... still too low! What a surprise. I didn't really think things would have improved  enough...

Doctors give me something with one hand - and take it away with the other

When I was a little girl my nan had a saying that went something like - talk about give you something with one hand and then take it away with the other!'

Well that's exactly how I feel today.  We went to get the results of our scans today - my son's MRI and my CT.    Great news for me - no change at all since my last scan in January.  Only one lesion visible on CT (used to be 3 in liver) and that hasn't grown from 1.5cms.  Other active cells (couple of lymph nodes, and pelvis, where I...

Can you get secondary cancer after having treatment for Breast Cancer a year ago. Had Chemo and Radiopheraphy then.  I have and aggresive type of cancer.

I have had some blood tests and they have come back abnormal and my doctor is sending me back the consultant.  I am now worried.

    mum passed away

The night  before she was due to go into the local hospice, mum passed away at home ( early hours of 22/10/10). She had her pain controlled much better at the end with a patch and was comfortable.

I'd like to thank the forum and everyone (esp Sarsfield) for their support at what has been a difficult time. I'm still in shock and mostly relieved that her suffering is over. I expect it will sink in over the coming days. The sharing of experiences on here has been useful on the dreadful rollercoater...

    confused.com

Well I'd like to offer my opinion on whatever the hell's going on, but I don't have a clue what it's all about, and actually, I don't want to know.

I first used this site when it was 'what now' - yes, it was good, maybe this one isn't as good, I've never really thought about it - it does the job, doesn't it?  Puts you in touch with people who understand what you're going through?   I don't go in chat - tried it once when I was at rock bottom - and a) couldn...
