    Lights, camera, action!

Well I had my first chemo session today. I didn’t sleep at all last night out of being so anxious. Well I tell you that the today has probably been the absolute worst day of my life. I can honestly say I might actually mean those words. I felt as if millions of nano-bots were invading my body the minute they released the chemo into my system. Yes this could all be in my head but I will never forget the way my body felt it seemed more than real! It felt like I was traveling through my body with the...

  • Bummer....!
    Bumpy Roads

The main idea of this came from an assembly I gave to my pupils a couple of weeks ago. After events of the last few days, I thought I needed to say it here too (tweaked a little so it makes sense to you lot). It is not funny. Normal service will be resumed next blog.

The day after I was diagnosed with cancer, I took my class camping for a week in Devon. I said to them John Lennon’s quote ‘Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans’ and that life was happening to me then. ...

    ADVICE PLEASE ON TOPIC

Tough topic i realis but this is the place to seek advice when our thoughts fail us

"where our love, knowlegde all that we are"

    QUESTIONS

1, "what efforts does one make to empty all information one has in ones cranium, for the benefit of those we love in the hope we can still make a difference in our absence?"

    2. Is it important for them and for us, does it matter? Children still having access to daddy thoughts?

    3. What Ideas does one employ?

    4. Is it even important...

    And now we wait

My older blog posts seem to have vanished in the changes, oh well.

I'm now in the 'watch and wait' stage of my journey.  The treatment has finished but I have the routine of scans and follow up every three months for the next however long so it's not really over yet.

It's kind of hard.  I don't want to obsess over having cancer and I can see people's eye glazing over if I mention it, but it's still such a huge thing in my life.  I feel like I can't make plans too far...

  • Roller Coaster Ride about to begin!
    Here We Go!

Wednesday is fast approaching and my husbands entry into hospital to begin his roller coaster of a ride of a stem cell transplant.  It was a low week last week, lots of tears were shed and fears declared but I am happy to report that my man is now in full control of his coaster and ready to begin this next part of his ride.  The infusion of the drugs to get rid of his stem cells begin Thursday morning and continue through till 27th October when his brand new donor cells are administered.  There will...

Love really makes the world go round.

Its been such a busy couple of weeks, trying ( being the operative word) to go back to work and failing miserably. I was in a few days and then have been off again for the last couple of weeks.

Whilst i was at work we held our Mac coffee morning and raised about £350 we had the local mayor with her big shiney necklace lol help us out and she even stood outside the office beckoning people in she even bought some raffle tickets. We were lucky enough to have several prizes donated by local business...

    Good Morning Tears

Oh no!  I wake up crying and really hate myself for doing this because I never seem to be able to lift my mood when I do.  So I lay there wallowing in the unfairness of it all and the dog licks away my tears.  I would like to think it's because he knows I am miserable and upset but the reality is the poor little thing is absolutely busting for a pee and probably a poo and  I realise I must get my fat ass into the shower and get on with the day.

Shower done, hair dried, throw the clothes on and off...

  • What happens next I'm scared of whats ahead
How do we get through this?

16th Oct - I'm sat in my apartment packing up my things to fly home tommorrow to care for my mother who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. To say I'm scared is an underestimation. She is in denial at the moment and I guess I am too. I dont think the reality of it will hit me until I get home. Even starting to write this blog is hard...our whole lives have been turned upside down in the last week and I dont see how things will get better. Mum is so young, I never imagined that I would need to care...
