  • The Uncomfortable Truth of being a woman
The smear test that saved my life (although I didn't know it at the time of writing this)

If it was actually possible to make a woman MORE self conscious about one particular part of her anatomy, its when approximately every 4 years you get the familiar call from the doctors..”Miss Regan, its time for your smear test”
SMEAR!! Even the word conjures up horrific images and that’s before you even understand what’s actually involved. I mean come on people, change the name at least. Men get the proctology examination but we all know they don’t leave the doctors with a degree and...

  • Getting my head around it
    Happy days

I feel well!  Yesterday I worked effectively in the garden for two hours or more and cleared away a lot of large pruning that had been waiting for weeks or even months.  A couple of days of wind without rain had dried off the branches and their dead leaves so that I was able to use the shredder. (Cog-type shredder, not whirling blades).  Today I went for a walk right through the village and met several old friends I hadn't seen for weeks or more.  I was able to talk about storm damage and see for...

  • BronB's Lump in the Neck
    Happenings since last post
Well I have met with my ENT (mr gurr) twice and he is so nice - the perfect consultant! A friend told me about Andrew Sykes at Christie's in Manchester so we went to see him yesterday bit was a long drive which required lots of Eddie Stobart spotting (34 including a car transporter!). I also had to call heart FM to report the car on fire on the M6 causing tailbacks and the motorway to energy ally be closed - fortunately on the other carriageway. The oncologist I have been directed to has cancelled...

  • Smashing The Stragglers...
    3 Steps Forward
At last , after a few hiccups on the health front, I can report some progress and have managed to get something other than sips of water by mouth. Yes I am officially up to the gulping stage, and looking forward to getting back to drinking some other tasty beverages and food via mouth I the near future. Although this leave me two weeks or so behind my envisaged recovery plan every small step is a goo done. I have cut down on overnight pin killers and massaging neck and shoulders should see good...

  • A Journey
    Jotting down (5)

Called mum, talked to my sister. I haven’t talked to my mum for three days now, she doesn’t feel well with all the side effects. Her white blood cells still very low and she's having an infection in her lung, difficult to breath. I think my sister just try to be calm and I told her over and over again, don’t call me until last minute. In Chinese culture, when problem happening in the family, people tend to spare out those not around or close by. To my parents, if they can solve the problem by themselves...

  • Dyad's second time around
    Other dangerous therapies

Further to my last post, I've just remembered that another, very dear and close, friend, whom I shall call X, got in touch with me a couple of weeks ago to tell me about some cancer therapies she'd heard about, and would they be any good for me? She had heard from another friend (Y) who is 'supporting' someone with a brain tumour (Z). Y is pretty alternative, and she was telling X how she was advising Z to follow something called German New Medicine (GNM). Apparently the theory behind...
