    Losing hope

well im afraid i given up hope of not being given a terminal verdict next week, yes i know i thought these thought before but mainly because my consultant was forever telling me in september that i was in a very horrible position after the failure of HDC.

i had the lung operation on the 10 th of October and very soon i will have my first consultation concerning the results,

i can't see it possible that i will get away with out any more treatment,

nor can i see how it wont be just palliative...

    I am really blessed!
As I wait to start treatment, and get verbal and anxious about what is to come, I look around this amazing site and read many of the posts! When I was posting to a fairly small extent over 3 years ago, I was consumed with grief while looking after my dying man. Even then, I was aware that there were whose life situation was so awful compared with mine. The practicalities of my situation were not extreme, as a life long health worker, I could cope easily with that. It was the emotional and mental...

Two types ductal and lobular. So now I have had bilateral mastectomy and axillary clearance right and left. Two operations in one month. Its good writing this blog because I get it all out and yet I still can't believe its me I am talking about. What going on

Well its been nearly three week since my operation and finally the major shooting pain has gone, and i have slowly weened myself off the oramorph, but my question is what is happening in my body,

i have a blood test monday and will find out the results and what happens next friday, even though the results are pre ordained there are three possible results

    a) my tumour markers have returned to nearly normal, thus giving the impression that there are no cancer cells left in my body and i will be...

What on earth is going on....!

Well, Hickman line safely installed. Not quite the walk in the park I was promised...however! as I have previously posted, I was very apprehensive prior to it. I really don't like being messed with in this way. The girls on the interventional radiography unit were so kind and reassuring, I can't thank them enough for their sensitivity.

God is so good, and answers prayer, I never know why I should doubt! I was so peaceful and calm it was  amazing. My heart rate, breathing and blood pressure...

    And the scanxiety begins...

After feeling relatively at peace with my husband's cancer-ness, we arrive home after work yesterday to an envelope on our door mat. Now after all these years of cancer in our lives I can tell a scan letter a mile off...it's a talent, I'm sure!!!

Husband opens the letter and shock horror, it is a scan! Straight away I am thinking at million mph in my head, thinking of the date of the scan, then thinking of the date of the MDT and how that works with our work/life diary...already thinking...

Don't Point Your Tears at Me
I get my blood tests on Friday hopefully. The anxiety of wondering whether there's something wrong with me is not particularly pleasant but I am at least well versed enough in this area to know that if there is something, worrying about it won't undo it and I suppose knowing is better than not if something can be done. All easily said but not terribly easy to follow my own advice at times. Yesterday saw the return of the sympathy squeezers too. It wasn't intentional but I've managed to ignore...

    4th Week of recovery

The steroids have definitely helped with my appetite, and the more I've been trying to eat the better the swallow reflex has become.

My preferred meal at the moment is pasta soup and bread (all in the same bowl) with cheese on the top. I think I do need to try and include a few more vegetables, but I am definitely eating a lot more.

The side that received the main RT still has a bit of soreness, and a few new ulcers keep appears, then fading. There is still a sore spot in my throat too.

    I just...
