ok so back in 2012 my mum got diagnosed with kidney cancer and at that ver same time also got told she only actually had 1 kidney! Total shook to her! Her tumour was around 7-9cm and had stayed within the kidney! She had her only kidney removed and was put onto dialysis. In April I was given a second lung cancer diagnosis - so for some in the on-line community my situation is not helping their first diagnosis.
I cannot post in the after treatment community as the 13 years in remission is rather seen as a boast.

Around 2009/2010 at age 61 years I suffered from back pain when exercising on the floor lied on my back – during Pilates or doing sit ups – and had weird sensations and pain in my lower abdomen when swimming. There's been a lot in the news over the last couple of days about how A&E departments are cracking under the strain of too many patients. And this weekend we got to see what's happening at first hand.
I had a GP appointment on Friday morning. Initially it had been simply to renew some prescriptions, but for the last few weeks my abdomen has been swelling up, and by the end of last week it was barely endurable. I can't stand up straight because it hurts too much, and I look pregnant....

I'm sorry if anyone uses this phrase but I am so frustrated at hearing "sadly lost their battle to cancer", I understand that it's said from a very good place and people often don't know how to say things in times of death but it just makes me angry, in my opinion, the phrase insinuates that the person who has died, simply gave up!
I have met and lost many people to cancer as well to other illnesses, but...
O.o, O.K, so I was some kind of idiot, but I just thought its Christmas and at last something positive has happened this year. Its been over a year of 2 lots of chemo, radiation, hospital admittance for pneumonia and kidney failure and the last few months lots of side effects for more chemo treatment.
But if there is one thing I miss its the country side..see my blog on Oare marshes etc. I can walk a good few hundred yards and then resting using NHS Oxygen cylinders which are a boon and for which...
Regarding personal fitness (BMI),
I'm absolutely perfect and here's why,
No ache for cake,
No thick milk shake,
Can break my resolution not to die...
Advice, I've taken shed loads, good and bad,
Literature fanatical (and plain mad!)
Reduced my caffeine in,
No carbohydrate sin,
And overall my wellbeing makes me glad!
When told to take a cure and shed my hair,
My radiated front even seemed fair,
My lust for life,
A surgeons knife,
The rational price to pay for breathing...
My dear wife has been in pain and discomfort for months leading up to the first chemotherapy session and she is suffering sickness in a poor way. The sickness tablets she was given did not do to much and the prescribed tablets only, taken with the other tablets she has to consume, do very little also.
Is there an approximate period or number of days when the sickness subsides?
I fear she is already loosing her will in this battle and she still has another three sessions to go in three weekly periods...
