Each day is precious

Less than one minute read time.

Thursday went with my brother and oldest son to Windsor Horse show. Despite it being extremely wet and cold. We had a great time just sharing the moment together.

Recently I received a text message from him which really moved me.

Lovely Sunday with you. Actually missed your company. But as usual you made up for your absence. by being superbly present and making my Sunday and week complete. Your gift of a baby orchid was such a beautiful surprise. Thank you for always keeping me level headed and humble. Even with your extra ordinary work situation. You continue to show tenacity love R xx

For me and my family its important for him to know he's not alone. So by sharing precious time together doing meaningful and enjoyable things. We are able to focus on him and not just his diagnosis.

Welcome to the site, and I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's diagnosis.

It is lovely to hear how you are making the most of your time with him, and his message shows how much he appreciates it.

I'm glad that you've found our site, and I hope that you find sharing your story in a blog a helpful outlet. As well as blogging, you may also be interested in joining our family and friends group and posting a new discussion there - that's a really good way to get responses and support from other people whose loved ones have cancer.

Thank you for those comforting words Priscilla, I work full time and find it difficult to sometimes get on respond to my messages. I would love to join a support group and will have a look. Our parent are now aware of my brother's medical condition. It has been like a emotional roller coaster but I feel more confident and comfortable to talk about issues concerning his health. We are planning a trip to Jamaica to visit mum and dad next year. All the family is praying his health will be good enough for him to travel. He and I went to Istanbul this year for my birthday. We had real quality time and was able to do a lot more than I though he would be able to manage. We as a family is looking forward to a Christmas spend appreciating just being together.
