Blogging can be a great way to journal your experiences and share with others. Why not create your own cancer journey blog, or have a read of other blogs created by our members?
Unsure how to get started? Take a look at our help pages on blogs.
Been thinking about doing this for a while now. I'm not someone who writes diaries and I've never done a blog before, but somehow it feels that the time is right, as things seem to be moving a little faster and I am finally coming to realise that we are very unlikely to walk away from this together. Perhaps up till now a little part of me has felt that writing things down would make them real?
I am hoping that my wife and I are unique in this, but we are both desperately disappointed with MacMillan services. The service is nothing like the lavish and presumably expensive adverts. So far in our experience, they are all self-marketed hype with no substance. Unfortunately they are the only Health Service support that we have been offered. My wife was diagnosed with liver cancer at the beginning of February, after the tumour was misdiagnosed as benign in June 2015. Consequentially the prognosis...
When a diagnosis of cancer is given , whether for yourself or a much loved family member or dear friend , then the term bombshell might not seem to be covering how you might be feeling at such news .
Thoughts or fears of what to do next or how you will get through are probably common . If someone thinks that another person has changed their behaviour or manner after news of a diagnosis it may be that the other person is slightly afraid of what might seem to be a death sentence after hearing of...
I would imagine people with slow growing cancer have different fears and thoughts to someone with cancer and immediate treatment and effects.
Neither is good, neither is easy to live with for different reasons..................
We entered the Consultants room yesterday and asked how we are and are we living a normal as possible life, my husband answered 'For being sick/ill I suppose we are.'
Now too things came out of this, the Doctor saying you are not sick and John's announcement, 'You may...
I have just been diagnosed for the second time with breast cancer , having had breast cancer 15 years ago I thought I had beaten it boy was I wrong it's back and worse this time
So unsure what to do tonight, my husbands appointments are tomorrow, a routine we go through every couple of months.
However, I made arrangements with my girlfriends to meet up, forgot all about the appointments on the Wednesday (date made a few weeks ago) and now we have come to the day before the appointment I feel quite guilty going out tonight to leave my husband to fret about tomorrow.
We try and live normal, we weren't normal before, so it is exceptionally hard for us to be normal now!!! So...
So, here we go again, back to hospital for checks, blood tests and MRI Scan. We know this is for the rest of our lives until something changes. But each time you go back to the hospital, I see my husband loose a little light in his eyes. His sad scared eyes.
We are lucky, not yet has the cancer grown and it has been 8-9 months. Wow, feels like we have lived with this forever......I would like the cancer to come out and have a little look at the devastation it causes just so I could bop it on the...

Hi, I had a deep skin graft performed on the side of my nose on Thursday and am currently waiting in anticipation to see if the graft has worked, stitches will come out on Thursday of next week so fingers crossed. History: I had a small lump develop on the side of my nose about 18 months ago and thought nothing of it. Playing rugby I would often bash my face and this area would bleed, again I put it down to rugby and carried on. About six months ago it started to bleed on its own accord without being...
