As usual just when I feel I can relax and live life for a while something crops up and bites me on the bum.

My girlfriend's Mum has been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma. This happened in the last 2-3 weeks but my girlfriend only told me last week. We have been in a long distance relationship for just over 2 months and she didn't want to tell me over the phone. Having had a quick browse through the Macmillan website today I've seen numerous blog posts from the Macmillan admin team about breast cancer awareness month.
October is also liver cancer awareness month but there seems to be no mention of that at all on here.
Why is that Macmillan?
Sadly, Mum slipped away from us on the 9th October 2017, less than 2 months after being diagnosed with Primary, malignant, butterfly glioma.
Our family are heartbroken at losing our lovely Mum. We can't believe how fast the illness progressed, we were told it was aggressive and it certainly was.
Mum died at home, with us by her side, she wasn't in any pain (never even had so much as a headache which was amazing).
We are keeping busy with arrangements and appointments...
A rotten day so far. I woke up at quarter to four. I'm in pain, not the op thank goodness, but painful. The operation uses a piece of intestine to make the conduit for the urine from kidney straight to stoma and into the bag. Your innards then go into a sort of sulk. They are bruised and become sluggish, not wanting to work. The first ten days were constipated, then I had a few days of the runs and now I am back to sluggish. Unfortunately this has caused haemmorroids, hence the pain. On the upside...
So it’s been 2 months since I last posted, sorry!
The Mirena is doing its job and at an ultrasound last week, my uterus lining has gone from 2cm to 1cm in just 9 weeks! There was also no sign of cysts which is good news. I’ll have a biopsy in February and see how things are looking from that point of view.

I am now on day 4 of cycle 4 and so far I feel okay. I am tired, my taste buds are shot, I had extreme diarrhoea during the night, from 10pm until 1:30am, but after 4 loperamide it has eased off. My teeth hurt, as if they have been banged, but I remember this from other cycles, so I know it means nothing and will pass in a few days. I am not throwing up, which is a big bonus and hopefully down to the new anti-emetics, but they are also responsible for me being up in the night, so it is a fine balance...
