    worst day of my life
we have just been given some devastating news. my partner and i went yesterday to see consultant to get results from mri scan and ct scan (read my profile for background) we were sat down and very bluntly told he has a recurrence of bowel cancer, it is advanced and secondaries in the liver. we have been told it is not operable as the cancer is in both lobes of his liver. they are going to do a biopsy on the bowel next week to see what type of cancer and if it is in a suitable position for radiotherapy...

    Bone pain
Hi everyone, I'm really confused at the moment. I am and have been suffering from severe pain in my ribs, shoulders, upper arms and neck for a while now. I first went to the docs with bone pain but was told it was pulled muscles, found out xmas eve 2008 that it was hodgkins lymphoma. I am now just about to have the second part of cycle 4 poison in the morning, I have it every two weeks and hopefully after this one there will only be four more shots. My consultant is baffled and is sending me for...

Hi all Yay! Had my last radiotherapy today. Wasn't too bad after all. You were all right. Even louder YAY!! my hair is growing (approaching Sinead O'Connor length now) and still dark. My cancer was triple positive - ER, PR and HER2 so ........ having my first dose of Herceptin on 27 May. I've read the blurb but has anyone had practical experience of this treatment? Any experiences welcome. Love to you all, Maureen x

    Next go-round
Monday starts new chemo, carbo and alimpta. I was getting carbo/tax/avista, which was a trial and now I am out of the trial. The alimpta (usually for mesothelioma) is because we can't get rid of the fluid in my lungs. We shall see. I have been tapped about 14 or 15 times so far. About every one and a half weeks. I really can't do very much and haven't been able to do very much for quite awhile now. I walk 30' and I am so winded I have to sit and catch my breath before I can continue, otherwise...

One step forward and three backwards.
Firstly I would just like to take the time to thank all you kind people who answered my blog. There are so many kind people out there. We have had wonderful news that my husband Bob's scan results came back clear he was so frightened and all of us, his family, were also. It was great news after all the worrying again and wanting to scream and scream. Anyway we all felt on top of the world for a day and now, bang, he has become so unwell just 24hrs later and has been admitted to hospital and they...

    Hello
Hello, I am new to this site. My name is Fiona and my husband Paul has just been diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in his throat. He has just come out of hospital after starting DAP chemotherapy and had a hickman line inserted. I would love to hear from anyone with experience of DAP chemo and chat to anyone in a similar situation to myself. Paul was first diagnosed and treated 10 years ago, so this time I am a bit wiser and aware of what to expect. Look forward to hearing from you all...

    Seanty
Looks like Seán will not be back on here, despite the clearly expressed majority view. Can't see any point in sticking around myself.

    Tierdness
Well Hubby is now heading towards his 5th chemo. That will be next week tomorrow is his day to see the consulant. Do hope he is ok to go, he has been so tierd after his last chemo has spent lots of time in bed its 11.50am now and hes up there fast asleep. I think the chemo has effected him more this time, far more tierd than past ones.
