Seanty

Less than one minute read time.
Looks like Seán will not be back on here, despite the clearly expressed majority view. Can't see any point in sticking around myself.

did we really expect anything else1  Shameful decision, clearly one rule for Seanty and another for the quacks and advertisers who still manage to get their blogs accepted.

The chief executive and the moderators should hang their head in shame over allowing a minority to drive Seanty from this site. Regardless of whether you love or loathe him there are a significant number of vulnerable people, people in turmoil who are easy prey to quacks and charlatans. Send messages of support to Sean at

that this has happened. I know seanty has not been to everyone's taste but he has always backed his views with reliable evidence which is more than the quacks do. My view has always been if you don't like the views don't read the blog or the replies. I echo what Drew has said it is such a pity that the minority appear to have won in this instance!

What I don't miss, is this sort of response to the widow of a keen cyclist on the melanoma forum:

"As you are neither a patient or a caregiver, I suggest you peddle your tripe elsewhere."

Or general advice on which forum to join:

"And if the cancerbacup site is too rough for people, there's always "cancer buddies" *HUGZ*, LOL."

When I need advice on Breast Cancer, I actually prefer advice from Breast Cancer sufferers or carers, so If I find advice in the breast cancer forum objectionable and that the adviser has no link to that cancer, I take it as a personal intrusion.

I only read about cancers that affect me or my wife, but I resreve the right to comment on Blogs as they are a broadcast from a cyber mountain-top and sometimes, as in this case are an attept at canvassing support which I do not wish to give.

Seanty is quite an advocate of the "rough and tumble" and "unpleasant truth" aspects of a public forum and he also likes facts, so here are a couple:

I have never complained about any one or any thread or blog on this, or any other forum.

Seanty has both complained and been the subject of complaints.

To assume majority support on the basis of silence is not a scientific test.

The quoted "majority" is not always right, and sometimes the real majority is a silent one.

Perhaps Seanty's talents can be more usefully targetted now.
