    Can anyone advise please?!!!

When my mum was first diagnosed with bowel cancer a few months ago, I thought that once the shock of it all had passed and the operation done that would be the hard part. Now she is going for chemotherapy to make sure that the cancer is completely eradicated. Now I'm not so sure which is the hard part! Like a roller coaster you get over the first hill and as you head down the other side another one looms. I'm told that while she is having chemo, not just the obvious occurs i.e. hairloss, tiredness...

    Almost a year

    Hi

Not written a blog yet however have read many, well here goes !!! It;s been almost a year since I was told I had cervical cancer, and yes the feelings are still there and very very raw. Most would say that I have been lucky (just a radical hysterectomy) but mentally I'm screwed !!!

Last year I thought this is my last Xmas dinner, last  year opening presents with my children BUT I am still here pretty normal to most but to me the day they mentioned CANCER is still in my head and will always...

Hi, I am going to see  Oncologist on 10th December to discuss details of forth coming chemo treatment due to start on 15.12.10. I have noticed several members refering to fitting of  Picc lines before chemo.Does anyone know if Is it standard practice to have one fitted before treatment starts and are they they painful.?

    Thanks Polly. x

    I haven't blogged in a while

I haven't blogged in a while. Here's what has been going on.

My husband sought a second opinion for his terminal diagnosis of bile duct cancer from a specialist in Leicester. Our first visit to see him was at the beginning of September to discuss the latest CT scan. There was still no change from previous CT scans in the past 14 months. He sent him for an MRI scan and blood tests and said that it might not be cancer. We got the results of the MRI scan and blood tests and the doctor said that the scan...

    target ovarian well being day

I've had a lovely day today, (after the hiccups with the trains) at a hotel in London at the TargetOvarian Well Being Day.  It is wonderful that some many people are now trying to do things to bring this disease to peoples knowledge.  A  meeting of people with the same illness, and hints and tips of making the most of yourself.  Just what we need so you don't feel so isolated.  My friend that came with me was very impressed, being a survivor of 23 years, and knowing how little cancer was talked...
