A send off for uncle H.
Gosh so much as happened I don't really know where to start, uncles funeral is next Thursday, so have got my teeth into sorting that out. I didn't realise just how much ther is to do and all in the space of a few days..makes me wonder how and why some of those big fancy weddings take so long to sort out? There's going to be a representative from his regiment, he will have the flag on his coffin (mothers orders) and the last post (mothers orders) ill be doing a reading, if I don't bottle it at the...

  • Dad - denial is good for the soul
    The story so far..

So, my dad.! Typical Yorkshire man - very loud, very tight, knows everything!

Smoked all his life, worked all his life, has the strength of an ox and never been poorly.

Its been a strange few months - he wasnt a good dad to me or my elder brother - he was absent, uncaring, and distant to name but a few of those.  Remarkably - he has been a fabulous father to my younger sister, and the most amazing grandfather to her two children.  My brother and I have not had the best of relationships with him as...

  • NOT FORGOTTEN
    Can not forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was bloody awful in our house, all my other half and I do at the moment is get stressed at one another.

For those of you who don't know me on mac, I had breast cancer back in 2004 and I finally finished my treatment last March 2011, and although I have done really well and am cancer free I have got myself into a bit of a rut with panic and agoraphobia which I am getting treatment for.

Agoraphobia has reduced my world to a very small space and going anywhere away from home is difficult...

  • When my heart began to break
How can I worry about me
Tomorrow is the day we find out my dads biopsy results. I feel scared and keep imagining what they may say, what I think they will say. What I hope they say is very different from what I think they will say. We all went to the coast today, had a good walk and some fish and chips. It was lovely only my mind is so occupied with other thoughts. Last year I had a breast ultrasound on my right breast as it was hurting, the ultrasound was clear. The last few weeks both my breast have been hurting,...

  • Pat's Carcinoid Blog
    Being greedy ?

Pat saw one of his consultants this week and had his injection. He now has 3 Oncology Consultants. We received a letter after seeing the Big Man.  It re scheduled his next appointment to one where there will also be another consultant who is a Research Fellow and expert in Neuroendocrine (Carcinoid) Tumours. She is also a Diabetic Consultant which is great. Now the question is, is Pat being a bit greedy here lol. I have warned him not to let it go to his head lol.  Forgive my light hearted comments...

  • Difficult Times
I am going to vent a bit.

I haven’t blogged for a long time. I just need to vent. I apologise in advance.

I am just so tired. My husband has terminal bile duct cancer that has spread out. He is not doing well. He has been sick for nearly three years. They told us he had 3-9 months when first diagnosed and he has beaten the odds. But it has been a very difficult time emotionally and physically for him and for me too. (Not to mention the rest of the family.) He has an illeostomy and is constantly fighting leak problems...
