  • The mysteries of Mo
    October 2nd 2011

Getting a bit more stroppy and cross with Mo now, I don't like it.Mo got up at 6am again this morning, "Where are you going its 6 o  clock in the morning?", "What are you up to now?", "Nothing" she said "I just want to go out there" pointing to the lounge. So up I got and went into the lounge and switched on the light, then into the kitchen to make some tea. While I was making a cup of tea Mo had reached the front room sofa and sat down. After we had drunk our tea I said "Shall we go back...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    October 1st 2011

Mo had some pain today which started in her stomach went up through her chest and ended up in her shoulders. Very weird, this is most definitely a first, hadn't a clue what to do though. Do I ring the 24hr phone line for Hospice @ Home and ask their advice?,do I ring the doctor or dial 999?, What?. Normally I have some idea of what to do but not this time, luckily I didn't panic thankfully.Totally froze though,I thought Mo had indigestion or was it just muscle pain from the fibromyalgia, that has happened...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    September 29th 2011 (pt2)

Didn't get my respite care today as the Association Of Carers who were meant to be covering cancelled. The volunteer who was due to come in wasn't doing it anymore and another already had a client so they couldn't come either. I tried to get cover from A1 Carers, the other agency responsible for my respite care. A1 Carers said that they would try to get somebody. As I only spoke to Helen on the Tuesday they did say that it may be too shorter notice for them to sort someone out and it was, triple whammy...

    Roller Coaster

No, not a very cheerful one.......!

This morning I nearly gave up on having a bath. Why? Because I'd have to to make sure it wasn't too deep and wear a necklace to tuck my tubes into and even then wash very carefully to not get too much of anything medical very wet... and I was tired of feeling knackered and I was all grumpy an dfeeling sorry for myself (no, really?! I hear you cry!) ........

So I lay on my bed and read a book (reading a fab one right now called House Of Sleep) to ease...

  • Myeloma and Me
    Side effects to MM treatment
Just been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. I had never even heard of it before I got the news, and everything just seems to have happened in a rush, 3 weeks from diagnosis to start of treatment! Hubby is typing this as, at the moment, I'm feeling crap and he can type faster than me! I'm on day 6 of treatment and just had the Zometa injection on Friday. Has anyone else had this as I was feeling OK prior to it but now I'm feeling very light headed (spinning head), very nervous, lethargic,...

  • A lovely weekend
    Lovely weekend op to come

So I have been away over the weekend and tried to put the fact that am having a minor op tomorrow out of my mind.

The fact that the weather has been so glorious has helped - although it was so hot in the house i was staying in that i could not sleep.

Why didn't you open a window I hear you ask? Well on arrival on Friday night at said house in the country we were buzzed by hornets who were nesting in the eaves of the house. I have never seen a hornets face before but these were big - very big. I...

MIRACLES DO HAPPEN:  SURVIVING TERMINAL CANCER

Nothing is certain. Miracles are part of our lives. Surprisingly perhaps for a teacher, I have scathing disrespect for so-called scientific knowledge and medical ‘facts’ and this is due to my personal experience with cancer.

The 30th June 2009 is the date I was confirmed as dying. My surgeon declared me inoperable, terminally ill and with at most six months to live. It is on this day my story starts.

I knew immediately, as I caught...

  • For The Love Of Gordy - A Sister's Story
    The Next Day

Can't sleep (one of the reasons I decided to create the blog) so have decided to carry on!

Took BB home early in the morning.  All of a sudden she is huggy, touchy, feely but I don't think anything of it and put it down to the stress of the previous day and the rotten news.

All I can really remember about this day is feeling kind of numb but still so angry.

Mam and me went to the hospital for afternoon visiting to find the world and his wife there.  I can remember feeling as though I was...

    Friends :)

So, Fri night, Mars came over :) Had a lovely pizza and a lovely natter :))

And now I have a certain person's mobile number so looking forward to daft texts and visits too, heh heh heh!

Saturday, today, started with a long lie-in, and then me and Broni flopped about in front of TV together, and then Em came over for lunch and a natter which was very lovely... :))

And then Deri came home (than you mum for having her overnight & all day today!!) and we had cuddles and leaping around-ness (not...
