    One Step at a time.
Sorry I haven't updated the blog for a while or replied to messages. I can't actually find on here how to reply to PM's. I read them on my mobile but can not reply. Well Fabe got his results and it was a mixed bag really. Some of the tumours had shrunk but one had grew under the chemo by about 37%. The team think they may try to blast this particular tumour with radiotherapy but will see if another 2 sessions of chemo work. It's strange as most of our family and friends are pleased that some of...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    October 17th 2011 (pt4)

While we were waiting for the nurses I had got upset with Paul and Ewa and went outside and cried my eyes out.Things had just got on top of me,not for the first time but I did eventually come back in but still quite upset.I was just angry, well more frustrated than angry with Paul and Ewa about Mo's future care.Trying to get paul to agree with getting Mo into 'respite care' had been a 'bone of contention'between us for a little while now.Unfortunately the tears returned, frustrated,I said to Paul"Its...

  • The mysteries of Mo
    October 17th 2011 (pt3)

Chris the District Nurse came up and as soon as she went into the bedroom,Mo was still doing the growling and clawing, but she knew what was happening.PAIN?. It was an indication of pain Mo was in so much pain with 'whatever' and the growling and crawling was her way of telling us all that as she couldn't actually say it.Mo was showing us that she was 'crawling up the wall'with the pain and that was also why, when she was left alone Mo started trying to bite herself without actually biting herself...

Phase III trial, expecting to enrol 400 adult patients affected by malignant pleural mesothelioma with disease progressing after a pemetrexed-based chemotherapy. The trial investigates the administration of NGR-hTNF plus best investigator’s choice (BIC) versus placebo plus BIC, where BIC includes either supportive care alone or combined with one chemotherapeutic agent (either doxorubicin, or gemcitabine, or vinorelbine). Randomisation ratio will be 1:1. Before randomisation...

Messages from and to a Sunflower.

This is just for friends of Sunny Leith. The rest of you, please skip over this blog.

I have been staring at this for 2 hours worrying if it comes across ok and is it going to cause bother etc so am just going to shut my eyes and press send cos life is too short. My intentions are honorable.

A friend has just said the phrase 'least said soonest mended' as I was writing this and I am going to take that advice and delete most of what I wrote here  as I think she is right.....  especially in this...

Chris the District Nurse came in today with another new nurse to sort out Mo's syringe drivers and check them. There was a slight setback one of the meds had run out,the medazalam,I couldn't believe it how can you RUN OUT of meds?.I wasn't very happy about it and chewed the nurses ear off about it."This was supposed to be an easier transition from Mo having the cancer to Mo eventually dying, sad as it is" I told the new nurse. After speaking to Chris the District nurse we did get to the bottom of why...
