15 weeks yesterday.
I thought I would blog to tell people that i am doing better. I know through the weeks I have posted some very black, low and at time despirate posts and i am greatful for those who offered their support in response, even thoughs for whom it was very distressing to read.
I am functioning more like a human again at the moment. I ncredably fragile still, and I can find myself crying all of a sudden but functioning through it. The flash of a smile as a pleasantry to people i meet...
well even though i was diagnoised with agressive prostate cancer and a gleason score of 9 a psa of 121. the consultant is giving me the benefit of the doubt having had 2ct scans and a bone scan and all come back clear, even though the consultant said i could have matastic diesese.that has not been picked up on the scans as it cant always be seen, and how on earth can my consultant see whats going on in my body, well hes not in there so he cant,so i am having this raditherapy done and hoping 2011 is...
Hi there, has anyone had Taxotere and Herceptin together? I am due to start this combination on Wednesday and would love to hear your experiences! Helen x
Wow, this is my first blog so I feel almost like an author now!!! I am sooooooooooo tired today and feel a little bit of a failure towards my 11 year old daughter. I have spent all day in bed, not sleeping but just too exhausted to get up.
I am fortunate to have very supportive friends and am grateful for that but still wish I was well.
I have had a horrible "barking" cough since my last operation on 23rd September. Surely if it was damage from intubation, it would have gone by now?

I've just come back from the hospital, had my scan results and now it has invaded my lungs too!!
We got another letter through for another scan today for next thursday so we will have to wait to see what this one shows up, im dreading it. My pops still being sick so im going to have to ring his nurse up and ask for advice as hes not keeping anything down and he really cant afford to lose anymore weight. I see the fear in his eyes and it breaks my heart. He told me i was the best grandaughter anyone could have and that he knows i would do anything for him and that brings him alot of comfort....
dad was brought into the hospice on monday morning. He has not had any sleep for the last 4 days. They brought a specialist into speak to him as he has alot of stuff going on in his head and doesnt want to worry mum or me. Last night they gave him 4 sleeping tablets and an injection. still no sleep. i think he is too scared to sleep as he thinks he is going to die and no one is around. I think we are going to take him home. I cant bear to see him crying. I want him to be happy.
I was thinking about the elements of my life that it is detroying besides my body.
How do you deal with it?
Its frustrating coming to grips withall that needs to be known about my cancer.
The more I thought about it the more I realised I should find one part of it that interests me and concentrate on that.
Im not interested in any of the physical aspects Im interested in the psychology of cancer.
So that might be my niche somewhere I can contribute, the psychology of cancer, but not as a psychologist...
My Mum aged 79 is pretty poorly at the moment. She had breast cancer 20 years ago that came back 2 years ago & now looks like it's on the march through her body - potentially her brain. She's had a series of strokes - most recent one 10 days ago have affected her sight, memory and speech.
The consultants think that some of the symptoms that she's experiencing may be alleviated by a plasma exchange. Reading on this website, it sounds likely she will also need chemotherapy to prevent excess...
