    Delays!!!!
Hi Everybody, I was due to have my third chemo yesterday, but my bloods on Monday came back that my white cells were too low to have chemo. My last chemo was delayed because my platelets were too low. I am really disappointed, i just wanted the chemo to be finished by next year, and now it won't. While this is just bad luck, it drives me crazy that i now cant get another chemo appointment for two weeks. They have put me on a list should a cancellation come up, but it worries me that it will...

    The Start of the Road
My Dad went for an Oncology appointment today. He first started with symptoms over two years ago and succesfully had a tumour removed, followed by chemotherapy. Everything seemed to be fine on his check-ups, but recently started being symptomatic. A new tumour site was found, with secondary tumours in liver and bone. It was such a shock to get the news that the cancer had spread. It was so totally unexpected. We were all focusing on the fact that there was a new tumour and then news from the...

    Difficulty Sleeping with Aromasin
Hello All, I have just gone onto taking exemestane (Aromasin) and after a wonderful stressless tamoxifen-free change over period, I'm now finding that one of the side-effects of Aromasin is really affecting me. Insomnia. I seem to sleep for about two hours then wake and toss and turn only to doze for maybe another couple of hours and then start shuffling again - this problem didn't affect me when I was taking tamoxifen (I took it for two years), although I did have other side effects which have...

    Sad Day
How life can change in such a short time! I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 11th Sept 2008 and I am now at home recovering from the op. Up until now I have tried to remain positive and focused... apart from the first few days following being diagnosed.... I fell apart! But today I think the realisation and impact of everyting is finally catching up with me and I am very very emotional. I know i will have days like this and I know that i will beat this but it is hard at times! I have the support...

    Non hodgkins lymphoma
When this dreadful condition returns does it automatically rule out chance of cure? I only ask because last year when mum was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma it was potentially cureable. Now because it has returned 4 months after the end of treatment it is apparently treatable but not cureable. Why so?

Can I see my own scans by email?
My 1st lung doctor let me glimpse at my x-ray to see my tumour (interesting pic of myself) During my bronc if I turned my head and strained my eye’s up I could glimpsed the camera pictures (interesting) The surgeon let me see my pet scan (a good pic of the enemy) And a glimpse of the after surgery x-ray (told picture perfect) I would like to have them on my pc to look at and ponder (is that strange?)

    sometimes life is hard
People tell me I'm a very positive person and I am. Sometimes though its hard. Found out a while ago that my brother has lung cancer with secondary in brain, wasn't offered treatment just mild radiotherapy for brain tumour. The family are still very protective of me because of my bout with this disease and I worry for them because having to go through this once was bad enough without having to do it again. Plus our situations are very different I never once thought I would die where he seems very...
