Sad Day

Less than one minute read time.
How life can change in such a short time! I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 11th Sept 2008 and I am now at home recovering from the op. Up until now I have tried to remain positive and focused... apart from the first few days following being diagnosed.... I fell apart! But today I think the realisation and impact of everyting is finally catching up with me and I am very very emotional. I know i will have days like this and I know that i will beat this but it is hard at times! I have the support and love of my partner, family and friends which I am greatful for! But I have two children and I worry about them and how they are dealing with it all. Trying to maintain normality helps! I am sorry for the depressing theme to my first blog but i needed to get this off my now smaller chest!!!! I have my results on Saturday so fingers crossed! I will keep smiling! Julie

When you are a mum a smile becomes automatic regardless of how we are really feeling! We are 'conditioned' to put everyone else first so to think about how YOU are feeling feels almost selfish!

Thank goodness for this site, here you can rant and rave, cry,as well as smile and there will always be someone to listen and offer support. It's a very special 'club'.  One that we all would rather not be members of but thank goodness it's here! Today is not a good day for you emotionally but tomorrow is a new start. It is hard to be positive all the time and a bit unrealistic.  So, embrace the good days and 'normality' and on bad days come here for support!

i will think positive thoughts for you for your results and hope you will do the same.

    Take care

Oh Julie, it's OK to give in and have a bad day, some of just hide in our beds and just want the world to go away, then miraculously, we rally again and are able to move forward for a while.

While your body, and mind, are in shock, just go with the flow and be easy on yourself. Deal with today and don't think about the future...that is too daunting for anyone.

Come and join in with the chat, you'll find lots of love, support and laughs in room.

We look forward to seeing you and thinking positive thoughts for Saturday.

    Sincerely,

    Angela Patterson
