    Taste buds after radiotherapy.

After 10 sessions of radiotherapy everything has a revolting bitter taste after I swallow food. Has anyone else experienced this and how did they overcome it?

    My Lovely Wife Julie 7

The pain in the leg eased off, the doctor visited - just a courtesy call and to catch up as he had been off for 2 months recovering from a spine operation.  He left a script for antibiotics in case her cough doesn't clear up by Monday.

Yesterday and today, after her afternoon nap, Julie has been sick.  Don't know what the cause may be but there was a large volume today. Makes me wonder if the Radio Therapy to the Cerabellum is working or not.  On the other hand she has a lot better balance...

    I'm new to tonsular cancer.

Hi everybody, I was diagnosed with tonsular cancer, on the left side, just after Christmas and have had 10 sessions of radiotherapy. Up until now I have been able to have my few glasses of vodka and tonic at night to send me off to sleep. My question is, I try and drink it through a straw directed at the right side to swallow to minimise any irritation but am I making the soreness worse or will it be sore anyway?

    excellent news

Cancer has not spread. Chemo starts on 28th April managed to negoiate a reprive as i need to sort out so much prior to chemo and need my head to be in the right place. Radio therapy and Tamox tablets after as well.

Also got a chance to tell oncology team how badly i felt i had been treated and the total lack of aftercare  that i have recieceved . I actually felt in control for the first time in months.

Expect the unexpected, a lesson to learn...

I've been recently waiting for results on qualifying for a trial. My husband and I where told last week we'd find out the results this week, so I was getting really anxious as the week went on. About 6 oclock I found my answer, and about 1,000 more questions..

Around quarter after 5 the phone rang with Karmanos (clinic) on the ID... this alone gave me the butterfly-stomach feeling. I was told they were unable to obtain my tissue samples they were switching me to a different trial. I was extremely...

    Cancer and the Quake

I live in New Zealand - 3 days ago Christchurch was rocked by a terrible earthquake - currently there are 103 dead - over 200 missing and over 120 in serious condition in hospital. It is surreal.

Amazing really how things in life affect you. Amazing really how your thoughts wander at a time like this.

I am facing cancer - and very scared - but suddenly I am really grateful that whatever the news from my next tests are - I have time. Time to come to terms with this - no matter how hard - time to...
