    Its back

just got back from my dad's first year hospital check up with results of ct scan showing secondaries in the lungs.  we are completely devestated and dad is broken.  hate this dreaded disease and the destruction it brings to families.  once it enters your life it is never the same again.  sorry.

  • Dad, cancer and me
    1st Xmas

Well, we survived the first Christmas without Dad, it felt weird and I definitely didn't feel in the Christmas spirit at all.  I would much rather have hibernated until the New Year when all the hype and fuss was over.

Mum had a little wobble on Christmas Day but I think she is finally letting a bit out.  She admits herself that she was never allowed to show her feelings, she puts it down to old stiff upper lip parents and boarding school.  Personally, I would explode if I couldn't express myself...

    I made it to 30!

When I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer at 26 I like many others thought thats it for me and at that time didnt think I would make 27!! Well here I am still fit and strong and just celebrated turning 30.  Yes I still have cancer and yes I know it will never go away but I feel so lucky to be feeling as well as I do and glad I reached this milestone in my life (at least).  My family and I all had a fantastic Christmas and everyone was really spoiled rotten.  The kids seemed thrilled with the gifts...

  • my story so far, scary but happy.
    I'm home
They let me come home today. I'm so happy to be here. They told me yesterday morning that they weren't sure about the toxoplasmosis. They don't think its cancer but they still don't know. My neurological symptoms are back. I have to get a blood test to see if it is the toxoplasmosis or cat scratch fever. If not we're back to clueless... Back to testing. I can handle that. Its ok really. It sucked at first to have the symptoms back because I didn't think I'd have them. Now I'm ok with it. The clinic...

    We did it!!

Yesterday we scattered my Dads ashes it was ok, i don't know what i expected tbh but just as we were doing it a nearby church bell started to chime....very fitting and kind of spooky as the time was 12.40pm.

As we were all staring at the river afterward though watching dad float down and out to the sea i looked at mom and saw she had taken off her wedding ring and as she kissed it i just shouted 'no mom don't' and she thew her ring in too!!!

I was horrified and kind of angry in...

    how long

How long do you hurt for after losing someone. It seems to be getting harder instead of easier and i dont know if i cant take it anymore. It still feels as if it was yesterday and my dad passed the 9/9/09. I still have so many unanswered questions that i cant get rid of.

Im glad my boy is better and im grateful for that. This is going to sound weird but i coped better when my boy was ill and i had to be strong for my family. Now i dont know who i am anymore im moody and bad tempered my partner says...

Well as the new year looms so does the emotion and drama of our first chance at having a baby. Following my hysterectomy for cervical cancer we thought all was lost with having our own family but friendship has shone down on us and we are about to embark on a truely amazing journey with our friend being a surrogate mum for us.

I start the IVF drugs tomorrow and I have no idea what the future holds for me and my husband and our friend plus her family but I am positive that 2011 will be an amazing...
