Grandma had fluid drained from her Lungs on Thursday. It seemed to make her feel better. Me and my Dad did meet her doctor, a lovely kind woman. She told us in a few weeks Grandma can go home. Great news, it's what she and we want for her. She will need a Day Nurse and Night Nurse, so we can be sure she is well looked after. She needs wheelchairs, commode and her bungalow needs to be sorted for her arrival.
When the cancer was found, we also knew it was in her Liver too. Now my Aunt feels she...
I've been deliberating whether to do this blog post, given the journeys others are making in this community and that continue to be a struggle, posting good news can seem insensitive. I've chosen to do it as it provides some hope for those starting the journey I have made.
On Monday I went for the results of my biopsy, the doctor bounced into the consulting room and said "its good news" and then before his chair had finished creaking from him sitting down "All Clear".
...Hi,
This is my first time on the site and I don't really know what I'm hoping. My mum has been fighting cancer for 10 years and was considered something of a medical miracle, with doctors writing papers on her and nearly hitting the national news. But on Sunday I was informed that the cancer has come back and that she won't win this one: she will have chemo followed by radiotherapy in an effort to extend her life from 1 to 3 years but they just don't know if it will work.
It just...
I had 6 relaxing days in Holland lots of sleep good eating and support felt refreshed and symptoms not bothering me when i arived back in the Uk sunday. This week has seen me get yet another infection two visits to the GP and alot more tablets. Despite painkillers I was suffering sharp pain in the lower pelvic area and tops of my legs yesterday evening. I have no idea if this is normal with Womb Cancer ? I have had a bit of bleeding again despite tablets to stop this.
The Colorectal nurse has been...
Dad had been ill for around a month up to Christmas, but had been diagnosed with gallstones, and booked in for a more detailed scan, following an ultrasound finding a shadow on his liver. He worked full time up until Christmas, and it was only in January when he was signed off by his GP. He had lost a lot of weight and kept being sick, and had stomach pain, therefore his GP prescribed him strong painkillers. He took a turn for the worse on 7th February, so we convinced him to see his GP to get him...

hi lovely people
this is my first blog
I am so sad because I see my lovely sister getting more weak as the days progress. she was re-diagnosed last May with secondaries to breast cancer and was very sick. we felt she'd hidden how poorly she had become from maybe January of last year.
she was so unwell then it was scary.
but she rallied and decided to fight it with the horrors of chemo. but they couldn't isolate it (said it was the omentum- this is the tissue that carries blood supply to the...
Last week I was told, upon asking for a prognosis from the consultant, that my dad has "months rather than years and how many we just don't know"....I'm not sure how much actually went in after the M word... I only heard my heart break into a million tiny pieces.
My Dad's had a 3 yr battle and it would seem that this is now a war that we won't win... should I give up hope now?, start facing facts and be realistic?... I just don't know. Inside I'm screaming, outside...
