    MRI day

Well its MRi day tomorrow and although i am relieved its here I am a scaredy cat too.  I am imagining all kinds of horrors too ridiculous to mention in fact. All of a sudden I have become an expert and know in advance what they will say!!!! Wont know any of that until Friday and its agonising.  I know that i have many many hurdles to overcome and in the scheme of things this is a relative small hurdle. ( i was rubbish at hurdles at school)

I am trying very hard to be relaxed and give the impression...

    ct scan again

Well, I did think I'd need it early, but the cancer nurse has now arranged an early CT scan for me in view of my raised CA125 results before my last treatment last week.  I had the full course anyway, so naturally my body is pumped full of drugs at the moment, and hopefully they have done something short term, but by Friday whatever the problem is had better be on show, or else it will be a waste of time. It took a few days last treatment before I realised things were not quite as they should...

    Results (good news)

In the last hour I've felt such an enormous sense of relief - I hadn't apprecitated how much stress had built up over the last four weeks.  After my walk yesterday I called the Dr's secretary who confirmed my results were in but as he was in theatre for the rest of the afternoon was unlikely to call me before Tuesday.  So one more restless night and a long morning but I eventually received his call just before 1pm.

The tumor is benign - of which he is confident - called a fibromatosis...

My dads cancer may be back

My dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer four years ago. It was totally by accident it was discovered. It was also discovered he only had one functioning kidney, the other was like a shrivelled walnut. Of course the cancer was in his good kidney. He decided to have cryopathy, which was a relatively new treatment. The tumour was frozen and died. It went successfully but we were told that it could come back.

I've found out today that he has been passing blood in his urine. He has been to the doctors...

    Lovely Holiday

I'm back after a wonderfully magical holiday at Disney Land Paris with my family.  I can't claim it was relaxing as the Disney experience is anything but! However we had a fantastic time doing a lot of nothing, the kids getting lots of character's autographs, hundreds of photos - I even got one with Minnie too!  After this we had a family weekend for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday with a lot more smiles and laughs.

So we're home and I'm fighting my way through the unpacking and inevitable...

    Newbie lost in space!

    Hi everyone

I have just been diagnosed with mixed type stage two breast cancer. I have to undergo further tests - mri and microbubble ultrasound this week. Am struggling to find much info on mixed type and just generally feel a bit dazed. I'm fine when family, friends and work colleagues are around and everyone thinks I am coping so well. I think I am coping quite well but every now and again I will read or hear something and I feel sad!No other way to describe it just sad. I know emotions can be...
