Hey peeps! Some of you know Dad was diagnosed with secondary bowel cancer last December, and he has been on 7 cycles of chemo since January/February this year. Today he had his CT result (picture taken mid-way through chemo) and results are brilliant-no trace of cancer in the liver anymore, so no liver resection to be done...however, there was still a small amount of primary tumor in the bowel, so within the next few months he will have that removed. So, he is almost 'disease-free' to the amazement...
Ok, ive got to get this off my chest. Everyday I go on this site and everyday I read of a person being diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer - in most of these cases its primarily terminal because the GP has failed to diagnose earlier. Had some of these cases been caught earlier some of these lovely people would survive. Only today a young mother in the Daily Mail was mis-diagnosed for months! with migraines only to be told many months later after collapsing she had a terminal brain tumour. This...
I am new here, my name is Sam I am 26 and an art teacher and my dear granddad was diagnosed with cancer on tuesday. He has been unwell for quite some time, loss of appetite, a cough, loss of weight and generally not feeling as active as normal.
He is 85 years young, my rock, my icon, my guide and now he needs me. I am petrified of losing him to this disease, tomorrow he is having his bowels checked to see if the cancer is there too, they suspect it is but cannot be 100% certain until tomorrow.

hi,
I was told yesterday that I need more surgery. They are going to take my ovaries out in August. They want me to lose more weight before doing the operation. I had my mastectomy last July and I am starting to feel like i go to hospital in the summer instead of going on holiday.
So many new people which is sad. I wish none of us were on here. I really do. But since we do have this dreadfull illness, or are caring for a loved on who has it, then this is a great place .Especially in those early days when your diagnosis is what shocks you awake, nags at your mind when you're needing sleep and dominates most moments of your day. To be able to come to a site like this, and to share some talk, some tears, some laughs, some fears. You can walk alone but why? When you can...
