Well in four weeks, i have been told i have bladder cancer, went through TURBT op and am now recovering at home. Waiting for histology and treatment plan as are many people on this site so I know I am not alone.. I have had quite a positive attitude to my news most of the time but of course have had a few "wobbles" now and then. I was taken aback when my consultant told me this could return again and again, was not prepared for that, hence I did not ask him questions about my op., which i now have...
Just ignore this post. Just needed to get this out of my system.
My sister came round on Wednesday evening and said that some of the people who we used to do Ten Pin bowling with have been asking after how David is, and suggested that he come up to the bowling alley to say hello.
The league we bowled in start at 10pm at night, we have 3 young children who at the latest stay up till 9pm (except on new years eve). I would have to take them and David. Also David's walking is not very good, and he really...
David is on 3mg, his headache is hardly noticeable (he tells me). He can manage the toilet on his own. His appetite is good too.
To be honest, if you saw him you proberbly wouldn't think anything was wrong with him, until he gets up and has a little wobble to the toilet.
He does get problems with short term memory and word recall, but his speech isn't slurrey.
Well, I know my cancer is fast growing, but this week has been like going down a steep slide, I have got breathless so fast. No word from the hospital, but I shall chase them next week as things have gone so quickly here. Last Saturday I walked round the show at Newbury, but this Friday it is as much as I can do to get up and go to the loo without having to recover afterwards. My chest has been so tight, and I have had pains in lots of different places, I just feel cold, and tired all the time. Any...

Sat another exam this morning, and got some good marks back from an essay I had to do at the beginning of term. Things are definitely looking up right now, the good days are outweighing the bad!
Diagnosed with superficial papillary type bladder cancer in March 2010. TURBT with mitomycin on 28 April.
Expecting regular follow up with removal of recurrences. My brother had bladder cancer diagnosed about 12 years ago but now discharged from follow up.
Follow up for histology results on 26 May. What a shock. It's grade 3. The Consultant suggests a further biopsy to check if it's already gone to the muscle wall. If so, cystectomy is the only option. If it was still superficial, they can offer...
Well after my ridiculous trauma with the MRi i think i may a little stable now (mentally I mean). I have seen the consultant the oncologist and today the plastics man.
My experience with the oncologist was good,he was human yes human and get this he had a sense of humor, he made the discusson so much more easy, and i felt i was able to ask as many questions as i wanted to.
Well it turns out that this dark evil visitor i have is getting the old heave ho on 23rd June and good riddance I say. The...
