    another lump!!

Dave got up late today, about 10 am before he came downstairs. He looked rough so I asked him if he had a bad night again, doesn't sleep much since the cancer invaded. Couple of hours at a time and long spells of laying there waiting for sleep to come again. We do share a bed but the most I get in one hit is 4hrs so rather than disturb his sleep more I go downstairs for a cuppa and get in spare bed if need be.

Today was different, he really looked bad. Think he may have inner ear trouble as...

    chat room rocks

Hi just had my second experience on chat and found it a good place to be. Last night was a bit daunting as so many people on it my eyes were rolling trying to read your messages.

Felt like I was intruding at first as I am a carer not a (what would be the right word to use without offending) carrier, probably still not the right term to use. Anyway I went on again this morning and was amazed that Mel knew my age. How clever she is I thought, I asked how she found out and I then had a short lesson...

    Belfast Bash

    Hi Everyone

It has been some time since I wrote on this page, but I just had to write and thank all our wonderful Mac friends for making the Belfast Bash so memorable for me and Liz G.  It was an absoloute pleasure to welcome you all to Northern Ireland and we fel honoured that yoiu made toe effort to come.  When we jokingly suggested last year that we would host the next get together, never in  our eildest dreams did we every think it would actually come together, for a start there was the distance...

  • Primary Bronchogenic Ca both lungs
    Primary adeno Ca both lungs

I'm new to this and have joined in the hope I will get some help and support along the way with dealing with this diagnosis and the treatment she is going to have.

My wife 52, non smoker was diagnosed in April with primary bilateral bronchogenic Ca, after a year of treatment for "adult onset asthma" both by the GP and a chest physician. After the usual tests, we have been told they are operable, but experience with managing primary Ca in both lungs is limited as it is uncommon.

    KIDNEY CANCER

    Hi

Well it's now 2 weeks since I had my full kidney removed after a 9 hour operation, where I was simply told there were a few complications, I feel lost, alone, let down and depressed.

I was admitted to the hospital on the Thursday morning had my operation, sent to ICU then on Saturday simply told you can go home, that was it no information just treat like a piece of dirt by the nurses in the hospital, sent home with packet of paracetomol and some dressings.

At 36 years old, I just keep asking...

    Coping with family

It's been difficult selecting what to tell family members.

Hubby doesn't have much medical know-how. I'm not always sure what he understands. He's been very supportive - saying it's my body & my decision. I explained that if I have a choice, I want to go for best odds for optimum outcome, even if it's a sledgehammer to crack a nut. He definitely doesn't want to think about the possibility of outliving me (even long term, let alone short term).

    Cancer Victim!!

    Hi all

It is now 3 weeks since the bottom dropped out of my world and I was told i had Breast Cancer. I've discovered that the fact that i have the disease doesn't particularly bother me, S**T happens, what I really can't stand is the lack of privacy.

I hate being poked and prodded and treated like a piece of steak, which has led to various medical professionals being treated to the rough edge of my tongue. So far I've chewed a new backside for Bob the Butcher (Surgeon) and Dr Crippen...
