Got to say in the past 2 weeks I have been spending alot of time looking at things on the internet in the hope of finding information and answers - what have I learned well firstly there is alot out there, it doesn't often reassure you, but knowledge is power. Oh and to take the time to absorb and get over the initial shock coz that is the real kicker!!!

Well today has been spent packing to go away to give my daughter a bit of time with me and my son a bit of time to do normal 17yr old things, thankfully he is a sensible lad whom has given me so much love and support over the past weeks but I know he needs a bit of time for his own emotions. My daughter 11yrs is struggling with the loss so some time to sit on the beach sand in the sandwiches will help us both talk about her feelings in neutral grounds.
Although I know going away for the weekend...

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well. I feel bad that I haven't had time to post on here much recently, and part of me also feels bad that so many of you supported me last year when my Mum died, but that I haven't been around much to reciprocate lately.
It's nearly a year since my Mum died and lately I have been feeling very sad about it. On July 24th, it would have been her 65th birthday. We went out as a family and we had dinner to celebrate her birthday. It was lovely. But, since...
Well today seemed to go faster than I thought, but then my famous list of things to do helped as I made sure I had enough time to stop and eat but rest of day was full!
I was expecting a call today about his wedding ring, during his illness he lost weight ~ yes all be it in the strangest of ways e.g. his fingers got slimmer but because of the steriods he developed the 'moon face.' He sat there on the sofa and panic set in as he realised he had lost his ring, we retraced his steps from the...
Hi, I am 29 years old and lost my mom to stomach cancer end of January 2011, so about 6 monhts ago.
She was diagnosed at stage 4 in April of 2010 when the cancer spread to the uterus.. She coped very well with the chemo and early scans were showing the cancer shrinking, however by the end of the chemo , the cancer multiplied and within a few days time it spread enormously. Doctors could only say, her life is likely to be shortened, but they did not really explain how quick this can happen, She...
Was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma last tuesday and have found out its spread to my spleen and liver.
As a 27 year old mother of two young children the effect this has had is overwhelming. My family are devastated and of course so am i. My head is all over the place and i'm trying so hard to stay strong. I have a meeting with MDT on wednesday (made to wait a week?!) and will know my plan of action then hopefully.
I'm trying so hard to stay postive and desperately want the doctor to say i...
