Firstly, I would like to apologise that as you know I can write pages just on one morning... this is the whole week so that means a few thousand words are needed.... sorry. I did think I should go back and delete a chunk but I don’t have the energy so I have packed off St Bernard Bernard dog with his Brandy to trawl the blog for casualties or boozers... hope you cope. I would recommend you skip to the bottom and just say Hi... (and please don’t tell me off cos I know already...) So... off we go....
Well DeJe-Vu maybe, seem to remember a similar one from last week, well maybe, but a new slant on it OK ?
Its not hard to confuse me these days, do find it hard to get to sleep some nights, doing good but a lot of thoughts running through my head and find writing them down does help me get a handle on them and get off to sleep. Started off on one track I thought, then found other thoughts were interlinked so here goes, hope I confuse others less than I confuse myself lol.
Ok a bit of reassurance, every...

My darling daddy is disappearing in front of my eyes and there is nothing I
can do about it.
Yesterday was truly dreadful, dad was a bit moody in the morning but nothing
bad so mum went off to work at about 12 she got a call from our lovely
neighbour to say Iain Rennie were outside and getting no answer should she go
in so mum said no she would call, called three time no answer so called back
and said yes please go in.
She went into find dad stuck half on and half off his bed...
I wanted to speak to a doctor while I was at the Hospice today had some questions playing on my mind and needed a few answers. Are we prolonging the inevitable?, Did Mo run a higher risk of having a cardiac arrest?, Was there any limitations on morphine dosage? amongst a few other questions. Normally speaking to a doctor wasn't a problem because there were always at least two doctors floating around somewhere in the Hospice and access to them was easy, you could talk to a doctor anytime. Once you...
Was back at Queen's today to see the hearing specialist. After a audiogram I was ushered into to see the man himself adter my huge hospital folder wouldn't fit in the rack by the door and it fell oon the floor scattering my medical history asunder.
The docotor had a look in my ears - looked at my audiogram and asked me if I have any hearing problems. Yes - can't hear the TV. Can only use the phone in my left ear but the biggest problem is a hearing aid might stop my wife moaning at me! He...

Hi folks, seems a long time since I've been on here, but thought i'd better update you with my latest news. I've been plodding on with the chemo and I'm glad to say that this lot seems to have worked, and everything is back down nearly to normal. The doctor has said I deserve a holiday at Christmas, so we've booked a cruise to celebrate. I am keeping on with the treatment at least until christmas to keep things under control.
Tomorrow, my husband may be home!
I know for some people on this site, 17 days is not very long in Hospital, but right now I feel it has been a long time. After 14+ days on a drip and then 2 blood transfusions he could be on his way home. Fingers, toes everything I can is crossed....
He has been marked up ready for Radio and after 2 weeks TLC at home we will be off daily for treatment.
My Respect for him has grown even more.He takes everything and every day in his stride. I have learnt more...
I'm happy to say today's colonoscopy was all clear and there is nothing to worry about. It wasn't a particularly pleasant experience - I had a dehydration headache before going in (and it was all running late of course), then was sick from the pethidine - but it was great to get it all over and done with without need for follow up.
In case anyone who is facing similar is wondering, I opted not to have the sedation (Midazolam) and it really wasn't too bad. Perhaps the pethidine alone...
Im gutted! My sister has been poorly now for 12 months. It started off by her feeling a little bit tired, she went to the doctors and found out she had MDS (Pre-Leukaemia) a type of blood cancer. They started off putting her on chemo called Vidarsa for 6 months. It didn't work and then developed to leukaemia (AML). They then started her on a stronger intense chemo and she had to stay in hospital for about 4 weeks. When the chemo was finished she looked great and we thought she was getting better...
