It wasn't a particular good day today went to visit Mo with Sue my neighbour but while we were there Mo was in quite a lot of pain. Its always very hard for anyone visiting to see Mo growling and grimacing when her pain flared up as Sue and I did today. All you can do is try and calm Mo down by stroking her head whilst holding her hand,something Sue was doing continually and it surprisingly works. I immediately informed the nurses that Mo was in pain,even though we aren't all sure if thats all it...
My mum and I went to visit Mo today while we were there Carol turned up,I was expecting her but she arrived a bit later than she thought. We all went into Mo's room,normally I try not to swamp Mo with visitors but I thought 'What the hell!!'it won't hurt just this once as long as we all don't try to talk to Mo at once lol. Hi all, just thought I would give you a run down on whats kept me away for sooooo long!!
So are the pills helping....yes I think they are. He seems a bit more mellow but still able to function. He does seem to get tired quicker....is that the pills or the depression or the effects of "c" ??????
As the colder days draw in, his speech is failing him, this leads to frustration cos I cant always understand what he is saying. He also suffers a lot of pain too from the cold. He still agrees...

After many thoughts I am being put forward for retirement on ill health grounds which is much better than just packing up as get full benefits with pension,lump sum.Its hard at work and get tired and a few twinges!! Ready for a new chapter while still have the chance.See occupational doctor end of this month so will know more then.Since the release of charity cd have been offered the chance to do a Matt Monro tribute show so guess I will go back to the profession I used to do which is what i do best...
quick question guys.....mums been really ill lately and they say she has fluid on her stomach. something about ppl with cancer can loose fluid throught their stomachs??? they have given her steroids but i dont understand how this is ment to help with this? some one said something about it shrinks your organs a bit to allow more room for the fluid. Is that how it works? just seing if any one else knows anything bout it. thanks guys x
My husband had his first cycle of two drug chemo last month, and had some nausea and tiredness, but apart from two days felt well enough to carry on working and was quite impressed with his reactions. It is a two week cycle, with one chemo drug being given IV immediately on day 1 and the other drug being infused through a portacath for two weeks and then two weeks chemo free. By the end of the second week of being drug free, hubby was much like his old self, apart from being bald that is!!
